I love it!! So do the fids. The only difference with mine is that they aren't powder coated, but they're excellent cages. Really sturdy and easy to clean. I can fit my whole upper body in the door to clean inside the front, hehe.

I've got that cage, one each for both my tiels and my budgies! You're boys will love it! Hope you don't get out bid.
  3. I find that just about everything except pieds and inos have the bluey grey feet. Although there's no rule which says this is always so. Unfortunately foot colour doesn't tell you anything about what genes they're hiding.

First picture is so adorable!! I take them away when they're obviously eating on their own, usually about 6-7 weeks.

Guessing, but i would've said baby 2 is male, baby 1 is female. Baby 1 seems to have more white around the nostrils, is this the same in real life or just the photo? Whatever they are they're cuuute.

Glad the new cage has settled things down! Can't wait to see photos.
  7. Go Apple!! Just remember, if mummy wont let you have what you want, always pester until she gives in!!! :(Laughing out loud): He looks like he's loving that popcorn.

I always thought that with mottled budgies, more and more of their feathers grow back white with each moult. From the picture this budgie has lost (either fallen out or plucked) it's coloured feathers leaving the white down visible.

Plain popcorn is totally fine for budgies. Should probably not be a major part of their diet, (Laughing out loud), but i'm sure it's fine for Apple to have a nibble. :(Laughing out loud):

    Yup!
  11. Yes Feathers it's the pour on version, I should have said that. I used to be able to get it in a small platic bottle for $20, but that vet suppier has closed & now I'm unable to buy it like that, I think because it's now been made illegal to sell these things in broken lots & must be sold in the proper container, with all the dose instructions & safety instructions & it's actually illegal, I think to use it on any other animal etc than the ones approved by law. But it's use is very common for other things like birds & other annimals. The CSIRO has used it on control of air sac mites with Gouldian finches. You have to be lucky to get broken lots now, in your area. Like Feathers, i can get it cheap by prescription from the vet. I'm sure it's the same everywhere, you have to see the vet though, unless they know you and your case. LISACHILTON, i am very sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your budgies. How heart breaking for you. Keep us posted with news from the vet.

Whooo!! Lookie what i have! All of them in the one place! Isn't it exciting! Also, Blinkie wanted to show you that he still has a pretty grey girlfriend! They're so in love....awwww. And this was a picture i took yesterday, Blinkie restoring his energy for more Cookie head scratching.

That is so much better than a cockabudgie!
  14. If you can, i would leave it with the mum and bubs until it's fluffy all over. Otherwise you'll have a hard job keeping it nice and warm. Just feed it every 3-4 hours, one or no feeds overnight should be okay. I had to do this with the youngest of 5 recently. It took a couple of days of me feeding the bub for mum to take over. Same might happen with you.
  15. Look at the size difference! Gorgeous photos!

I notice you're in Australia. For two budgies you can get the same cage but a size up, you could get it on eBay for approx $60 delivered. It's 30"x18"x18" and a much better size for two. Then you could go bigger again and get a 30"x36"x18" in the same cage style. Also usually available on eBay and just a bit more expensive. Definitely worth looking at. I've used both sizes i've mentioned. The smaller for 2 budgies and the larger for 2 cockatiels. I now have both in a sturdier version of the larger one (still by same company) which cost me $150 each. Not to bad for the size, quality and it comes with the stand. You should be able to find all these types of cages in pet shops in Australia, but eBay will likely be cheaper.

That's be great!! If you find it i'd love if you could PM the address and phone number. It's a real pain when Sandy's on holiday cause it's ALWAYS when one of my guys needs a vet, (Laughing out loud)!

Well with Blinkie it's probably more reasonable to say the love of the moment, but he's been very attentive to Miss Cookie and to my horror (and slight amusement) he climbed on her back (via her head, i don't know why she let him) with a bit of lovin' in mind. Luckily he's inexperienced in that department and fell off before he could get "in position". Will have to supervise more carefully if he doesn't lose interest again soon.

Oh, where's she? I'd be a lot happier having a back up number for when Sandy isn't available.

Just so you know, last i checked Sandy is on holiday until the middle of May.

The terrible trio - Blink, Oz and Fizz. Hmm, i see you sexy mirror Blinks....Ozzie! Back off!! (you should've seen them chasing each other around trying to guard the mirror for themselves. Didn't matter that there was a second IDENTICAL mirror a few cm's away!) And Blinkie has a new love in his life - nephew Fizzy!! He still chases after Ozzie, Cookie and Bailee too. But the main object of his affections (apart from his perch) is Fizzy. Kissy kissy kissy! NO KISSY!!! I SAID NO KISSY!!! Ahhh, but i said yes KISSY!!!! *smooooch* And have to add this - boing of birds. Bailee is absent because he's permanently glued to my shoulder.

Take it wherever, just make sure you're seeing an AVIAN vet. Many will say they see birds but they aren't actually trained to treat birds specifically.
