Hi and welcome to the forum
  2. I agree, they are great cages of budgies but as everyone else said you need to change the direction of the perches
  3. Beautiful babies you have there I agree with Paulie on the lacewing question. Is that the true colour of the YF cinn because to me it looks like a YF mauve. I can't wait to see photos of it when it's fully feathered.
  4. Hi Rhiannan, it would be more helpful to have the photos taken in natural light instead of using a flash. It looks to me that both the upper and lower beak need to be trimmed. You can trim yourself (I've had to do it) with nail clippers but since your bird is fairly extensive and if you can't get anyone else to do it I would do it gradually.
  5. That's so cute. Thanks for sharing
  6. There are certain pairings that can reduce the size if you are breeding for show types but it doesn't affect the health of the chicks.
  7. Sorry to hear that's happening. I don't think I can be much help but the only thing I can think of is some sort of infection being past on.

Both parents don't have to be carrying the gene to get the ino chick but since it is only Bart the chick will be a hen. If you want to produce ino cocks you have to have an ino hen to start with. My first ino chick came out of a pied hen and a normal blue male (chick didn't make it), then I put him down with a opaline grey hen and he produced 2 lacewing hens.
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum
  10. If they look like they are struggling to feed them all you could put a couple in the other box to be fed but only if you have to.

Not both split just Bart, hens can't be split for ino and the chick will be a hen.
  12. They should be fine but they usually take a while to come back because they will have to moult out and regrow.
  13. I love Paulies family shot
  14. They are soooo cute. I've never seen a clutch full of little ino's
  15. Sounds like you're off to a great start to your breeding season. You can buy plastic coloured rings that people use to identify birds, you could use a one colour for each box. Any good bird supply shop or ebay should have them.
  16. Haha no I didn't notice. I must be getting slow because I normally would.
  17. Great to hear all is going so well
  18. Yep, that's how mine went. I was really surprised how quickly mine came back, she's sitting on her second round now (I do have to watch her, she's my plucker ) hopefully yours will be the same
  19. I have a hen that does that. She goes right out of condition once she has laid the first round and is raising her chicks and then her cere goes back to brown when she lays the second round.
  20. Hi

Hi and welcome to the forum
  21. Wow, what a mix. They're so cute
  22. I am no expert but I would leave her to sit on the eggs by herself and make sure she has food easily accessible, even putting some seed in the box with her. If the chicks hatch and she isn't coping then I would transfer chicks to the other nest IF you think the other pair could cope with the extra mouth/s to feed. Good luck
  23. Infertility seems pretty wide spread at the moment with a lot of breeders I have spoken to, so maybe it's a nature thing that we humans don't know.
