rspb/bird flu
got to disagree i think there is a major disaster waiting to happen all the experts agree it is only time before there is a flu pandemic, on the news last night 150 million people could be killed if it happens and the most likely mutation being bird flu all the countries in asia have agreed to try and wipe bird flu out by 2010 this can only happen with a major cull

I have a case of Megabacteriosis
are you sure it is megabacteriosis as this should show over a period of time not straight away if it is then the hen sounds to far gone but the cock should be given amphotericin b this is from the vets (uk) which will eliminate the bacteria but the bird must be treated early

bird flu
you must work in quite a small shop not a superstore unfortunatly a lot of small shops have closed now and are replaced with the big superstores who refuse to disclose where there stock comes from (probably because most of it is from abroad) i have only once seen budgies in a superstore with a english ring on most times without one so these shouldnt be touched at all it could quite easily mutate so far only a few have died but if it did mutate you could be talking millions dead in weeks if people are sick who are the people who look after them care workers

is my bird o.k
Budgie Care Publications soory it should have had a heading bumble foot this is the discription of bumble foot in the book it is not a description of general infections

is my bird o.k
dont know who your source is but this is from the budgerigar societys book first aid for budgies overgrown claws puncturing the soles of the foot so any cut would be the same the birds feet become soiled and nodular swellings appear as a resultespecialy on the soles of the feet the bird should be seen as soon as possible by a vet,a good preventative is to use perches of a different size and shape so the pressure is not born on the same area

Anyone?
1. visit as many shows as you can to see whats winning 2. buy the best birds you can normally 2 pairs from 2 different breeders 3.as for preparing your birds they have to be brought into condition despoted ect its best to have a look at budgerigar world then to have a look at some of the show breeders web pages as this topic can go on and on
