What Mutations Are My Budgies?
Why didn't you just open the nest box, or is it one with only the opening for the bird?

What Mutations Are My Budgies?
Don't take my word for this, as I'm quite new to mutations myself, but I'd say the first one is a normal skyblue, second, skyblue yellow face type 2. Please remember, I'm new to mutations so don't take my word for it

Building An Aviary
hehe I do, I put in a paper towel that had the longest grass imaginable (seed) and Sparta ate (yes ate, because there was nothing left but the paper towel) the whole thing in around 7 minutes, and there was a lot of paper towel What I'm saying, is that the hollow branch can serve as a giant perch as well

Building An Aviary
This is basically the idea: And as you said you were thinking of some hanging pots, then this would be great in my opinion

Building An Aviary
Hmmmmmmmm......... I have an idea for it, but you might not like it, Dracaenas are incredibly easy to grow, and are definitely safe for budgies to eat. I also have an interesting idea that I only just thought of (literally), if you got a really thick and hollow branch, you could cut half of it so it's a hollow semi circle, hang it from the roof, and plant an overhanger (I think it'll look pretty cool). Also some bird safe moss might be nice And try and get plenty of eucalypt branches in there (With the leaves on). And buying a dwarf bottle brush might be something to consider (Budgies are addicted to the flowers) Hope I helped, and good luck

Pink Budgie Nest Renovations
Great job Maddy The only problem I would say it has, is that the aviary doesn't look like it's double wired, if you don't know what this means, then there should be a gap between two wires so that budgies don't try to kill each others' footsies

Has Any One Seen These Type Of Budgies Before?

Tamarisk
Hey guys, I couldn't find anything on tamarisk trees, so are tamarisk trees safe for Sparta??? Thanks

Play Gym
Nice Job I have a good idea on what you should do to modify it when/if you make another one, (because it will be torn to pieces). Before you attach it all together, die the pieces of wood with food colouring to make it so much cooler and more attractive to your birdy

Help!
I know I will be staying at home til I finish at Murdoch, and yes, I do have a pretty low opinion on Mum's intelligence of birds, because she thought that Sparta would actually cost around 150 dollars 0.o so I can easily suggest that I'll be making more money that I'll be losing without her knowing the truth, but in time she'll figure it out, and probably do nothing about it, thinking I was researching on the wrong sites

Birdtricks.com's Facebook Bath Competition
Hey guys, i've entered Sparta into the bath/shower competition, check out their facebook page to see her, she's already got 3 likes

Help!
I understand KAZ, but I actually really don't have much time to spend with Sparta, because I'm actually aiming to get a veterinary science course in Murdoch when I leave school, so I need 90% and up in all my subjects, and from day 1 of school, I was studying my hardest So she really needs a friend to spend all her time with... I would take her out and do my homework with her, but chances are that she'd eat my homework Oh, and I try to do my bit around the house, but Mum says that I'm just getting in the way, even when I'm sometimes doing things better than her :3 And I won't try to breed Sparta anytime except the holidays.....

Help!
Hi guys, I'm in need of desperate help here, I want to get a dominant pied sky-blue cock to be a playmate/breeder for Sparta, however, Mum thinks that our house is turning into a zoo (even though it's not, only a dog, a few fish and Sparta, although then again, I can be counted ) She wasn't that keen on me getting Sparta, and her opinion nearly always comes first in our household. I need to persuade her to let me get that dpsb cock, I already have a few arguments, Sparta is definitely getting lonely, 2 budgies mean 2 happy budgies, Breeding is a great hobby for the whole family, and doesn't require much to do at all (this is only for one pair, because until I'm an adult, I'm not going to do large scale breeding), she'll get 50% of the profits, and it will eventually regain the money that we lose for the birds (probably not true, but she'll buy it). Any other ideas please???? I'm worried for Sparta Thanks, Flip-Trainer

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?
She is a normal cobalt, right? I know her photo is around the forum somewhere, but having it in this thread might be nice. So dominant pied sky blue cock X normal cobalt hen gives you: 25% normal sky blue 25% dominant pied sky blue 25% normal cobalt 25% dominant pied cobalt. And then you might be able to expect some surprises if both parents are split to matching recessive genes, or if the father is split to sex-linked genes. (Those would show up in some of his daughters.) Thanks Finnie I'll see if I can get a male dominant pied skyblue, I like those percentages

What Is Copyright ?
KAZ!!! Tsk tsk

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?
Thanks Finnie, and I will know when Sparta is in her breeding age And by the way, I'm not planning on making her offspring visual violets anymore, but rather dominant pied cobalt... Do you know the chances of what the offspring'll be breeding with a dominant pied skyblue?
-
Combination Pieds
Hmmmmm.... So if I bred Sparta (Normal Cobalt) with a Dominant Pied Sky blue, what would be my possible outcomes?

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?
ohhhhhh..... I just saw two pictures and one of them said homozygous dominant pied :3 So I would just breed Sparta with a dominant pied?
