  5. Hehe, you better be sorry
  6. Personally I don't like using Millet for training... It gets really messy and when my Mum sees the mess (only just before I clean it up) she gets mad I would use a mixture of sunflower seeds and lowish in fat nuts (small or chopped up)
  7. Dillster posted in it, so I did...
  8. in my defence I was looking in the new content section

  13. Yes, i know this, but i was rushing when typing, because I was going out to a restaurant... you only do what i said if the bird isnt a fussy eater
  14. I'm only really an expert on the food (lol) What I feed my birds quite regularly, is a mix of hard boiled egg, wholegrain pasta, fresh veggies, and a tiny bit of bottle pellets (no idea what brand they are though)... They really like this, and when I'm out of school, in the holidays or something, i might start doing this on weekends, is oatmeal, because all birds love their wholegrain oatmeal... I advise you slowly stop giving them the seeds... They probably only know how to eat seeds, so put a bowl of what you want them to eat, with a tiny amount of seed on top, and they'll accidently take nibbles of the good stuff, and they'll slowly "wean" themselves off of the seeds and onto stuff that you like... A good idea, is to keep introducing foods to your birds, because if you do that, then they'll trust you with anything you put out for them to eat Hope I helped

Welcome to the forum Hope you find all you need here
  19. Thanks for the link, but I'm already a member of another finch forum (it's mainly american thoiugh), so basically the only use for the aussie finch forum for me would be for buying finches
  20. They're great I'm feeding them a breeding diet so that I won't have to be surprised, it has these ingredients: Hardboiled egg (with shell), raw pistachio kernels, Pasta, bean sprouts, lettuce, and a tablespoon of seed and a tablespoon of pellets... This is enough for Sparta and the finches and a bit extra they love it, also, my friends have some beautiful finches, one is a female with male markings (I was confused too, but they had it sex checked it sure enough, it was a female) They said that I can take as many as I like (for free) So when Issa and Zebby's first clutch are in breeding condition, I'll pair them up with one of my friends' Thanks for asking
  21. But all of the breeders I know do 8 months These finches are nearly 9 months old, and they've raised a fully successful first clutch from the breeder I got them from They're fine
  22. The title of this topic is so bad with my level of maturity But anyway, I'd say you need to have let them meet each other before putting a nest box with them for a while, I would say a week to two, before putting the nest box in.. it just seems the humane way to do it.. even though birds arent human
  23. oh... well with the budget I had to use, that was the one I got... which was the cheapest one there... and anyway, they seem to like them better
  24. Hehe no as in the female zebra's name is Issa I received an email late yesterday with really nice information: Instead of being bothered to take out parts of the email, I'll just copy and paste the whole thing :3 "Your cage is looking perfect also how u put the nestbox is good.female is fancy Isabel and male is normal zebra.u can put some leafy brances on top or inside the cage to make em feel theyre in a nice environment.they're 8 mos old.i call em Issa and Zebby.give em some lettuce leaves and fruit aside from the finch mix they'll love u for that.u should also have some grit and cuttle bone.give em a dish to bath in..thanks for giving em a nice home.im sure they'll give u pretty babies.if u want to breed budgies later on I've got a few.love all my birds :-) Cheers, Faith" Here's some pics of them as well Enjoy Zebby and Issa's tail Please note that this cage is only temporary, as I'm going to build a large cage for them
  25. I'm not sure if you can find it, but what i use is bird mite & lice spray from aristopet... but then again, u live in the Phillipines, and I have no idea of anythign there...
