  1. The chick with its head up the top resting on the egg, has a plum eye on my screen - Cinnamon baby EDIT: Also forgot to mention - I have noticed with all my Cinnamon budgies that they have pink legs instead of blueish/grey. Check your chicks - that may be an easy indicator too
  2. Gosh I LOVE LOVE LOVE the hen! She's gorgeous! Congrats on the eggs Shall keep watching this for progress on them
  3. It's all good! He feeds, sleeps, poops, etc. Whilst he sleeps, I work and help you . When he's awake I play, feed and change him - he sleeps for minimum 3 hrs at a time. The trip to Tenterten is a 6hr round trip so I am more than happy to help you out Also I think we may have some pavers here that we aren't using - but will need to double check first before I volunteer them haha:rolleyes:
  4. Would you like me to come and help you out with building the aviaries? I Am more than happy to help you out. It's such a massive job moving between two houses. If you need to get some aviaries up i can go down during the week if you like? Or on the weekend? Also what coloured YF - Blue? Grey? etc 2: What would a yellow-faced cock and cinnamon hen make? Again, what coloured Cinnamon? Greens( Light green, Dark Green Olive, Grey Green etc), Blues (Sky, Cobalt, Violets) Grey etc? Also what coloured YF - Blue? Grey? etc 3: What would a yellow-faced hen and normal grey cock make? What coloured YF - Blue? Grey? etc 4: What would a sky blue spangle hen and yellow-faced cock make? what coloured YF - Blue? Grey? etc Without giving us more information we could guess absolutely anything and give you the wrong information I'm sure someone could give you basics on each one, but I believe that knowing the exact colours and mutations of the pairs would be a much better option

Your breeders may possibly not do anything at the moment as the weather here is so so incredibly hot. Nasty weather! 37 was forecast today though It feels much hotter. My birds were all on the floor of their aviaries trying too cool down - I've gone out about 4 times and sprayed them down. I have one pair of pet types that decided they wanted to go another round but I have since removed the eggs and next box because I feel the hen, eggs and/or chicks may suffer because of the heat. None of the eggs were showing.. The cock doesn't seem to notice the weather at the moment - he's been too busy with his perch, the hen and the food bowl haha Fingers crossed things work out for you though!

Hi Jack Your birds are going through a moult by the sounds of it - the "spikey" things would be new feathers starting starting to grow back. Nothing to worry about - most of my birds are going through this at the moment too. If you want to assist them you can give them Moulting Aid. This may help you out with more information http://forums.budgie...showtopic=22897 Hope this helps you
  13. I have an aviary you can use if you need it Kaz? It's disassembled already as its the one I bought from Dek I still haven't been able to put up. It's not a high one, but it's something that could help til you sorted your aviaries out down there I am so so happy for you that you have gotten this place. It is absolutely beautiful
  14. Gosh very tiny for a 17 day old isn't it? Poor thing. Yeah I agree, euthanasia is best for it. Not a nice thing to do but will save possible future pain etc if it does manage to survive. I had a day old chick that wasn't being looked after by mum so I fed it overnight and gave it back to her the next day. Kept my eye on it and noticed it was never fed so I took over and started handraising it - after a week it had hardly grown any bigger than the egg so I euthanased it. Found it was easier than I thought to do (that sounds terrible I know but it was) I think that's what would be best for this little guy

They most likely would have jumped in from from something above or next to the container

My babies are almost 5 weeks old now! Well the first two will be 5 weeks as of Tuesday and the other will be 5 weeks as of Wednesday They look like they're turning out quite well but I would say that as they're my first show babies and I'm biased I have seen them picking at the seed and eating it abit and they are now constantly poking their heads out of the nest box and two keep sitting on the perch connected to the nest box. That quickly changes when I come to see them and they huddle in the corner squawking and puffing up and pretending they're all brave little birds, but then stop when I pick them up and they huddle close and accept cheek rubs I shall take some more photos this week

The babies are sooo cute Kaz They remind me of something but I can't think what haha
  20. Minimum 30 days buick
  21. How come you wouldn't say that with his mutation? *confused* I thought you do as it's part of the colouring of the bird? Plus it saves Steve having to ask the question about the blue later on, as I know some people don't know why there would be blue (or green if a DF was yellow) was there. I too think the parents are those mutations, though at first I wasn't too sure on the hen. hahaha I like that! didn't think of that kind of description! Only of what mutation he wa.But you're right he is very cute
  22. White DF Spangle with blue suffusion? Just guessing as both parents look to be Spangle. Someone with more experience may be able to help
  23. Congratulations! This is a great photo!
  24. Oh Kaz that's fantastic news! okay maybe a bit of a hiccup with rezoning/adding buildings, but it's thrilling news! Fingers crossed the planner can sort something out for you P.s ROADTRIP!!!!! *nod nod*
