  1. I'll see if I can.
  2. Oh well. I was mistaken then.
  3. Ha! Look at Monster. Are you keeping any?
  4. Ha! Cute!
  5. Then the pet shop was lying! I am never going back there for advice. The lady who breeds them just knows blues and greens.
  6. Duh KAZ everyone knows these birds are readily available from all reputable breeders (this computer doesn't have photoshop but you get the idea!) Yep. All dyed in the colour of your choice.
  7. Thankyou! More pics then...... Here is Thimble, aka chicky #1. Keep in mind that some of these pics are not up to date. Group hug! Does this look cinnamon to you? And last one..... can you see the little opaline?
  8. Cocks have pinky purpley ceres and hens are brown like normal. It confuses me with young albinos, though.
  9. I think there has been three topics with this exact same story since I joined. Maybe it was an albino with violet suffusion. What would happen if you kept on line breeding violets with lutes?
  10. That is a cute photo, I personally wouldn't house them together. I think (not 100% sure) that lovebirds have this stage where they are cute and cuddly and then once they get to a certain age they can turn vicious. Is the lovebird a baby?
  11. Yep! Anyway I think it is time for some more pics. I will post a few then you comment..... Here is a couple of mum and dad and just to show you Skye is back on track. And the last photo, one of the chicks. There are more to come. Houman.... I think it is 3-5 weeks?
  12. All clean now! I brought mum and dad in, they are semi tame. mum sat with the chicks, and dad flew off to a high perch and watched me suspicially . When all were done they went back in the cage. Skye likes to know where the chicks are so I have to hold them where he can see else he goes ballistic. Marigold doesn't care, she is the tamest of the two. It was funny to see Skye, he came down once or twice to look at the chicks to see how I was doing.
  13. I just put some more in, and the babies feet are dirty. I just watched the eldest try to feed the youngest, is that normal? Do I have to bathe their feet if Marigold doesn't clean them. It is just today that they have dirty feet, they haven't before.
  14. More pics soon.
  15. Great! Pinkies!

Ha, my cock bites while my hen is docile. What's going on there? O.K, so recently he hasn't been a big biter but when I caught him to weigh him.... well.....OUCH! By the way.....he is very pretty.
  17. It can and does happen, like Kaz said. Has your hen laid an egg recently?
  18. Oh, no, Kaz! Tell us all about it.
  19. You're not stupid, Jimmy, you MUST know more than me.
  20. Green has yellow, violet has white and the opaline is definately blue with white forhead. Not sure about the last little chicky, though. Also, the chicks have kicked out all of the nesting material?

Good luck with your breeding. Oh......I almost forgot.....WELCOME!
  22. I think female.
  23. Thank you, yes she is dark green. On the opaline it looks to be a pale blue so I'm thinking cobalt but is it possible for a cobalt and a dark green to produce a sky blue? If so maybe sky violet or just normal. It is a beautiful chick thoiugh.
  24. I'll take a wild guess with little reasoning and say opaline? Please correct me.
