Thankyou! They are cute. Can anyone shed some light on why they egg was moving by itself?

Umm, question. An egg was moving slightly by itself. Does that mean it is preparing to hatch or something. Or is it a chick just shifting about inside?

They are all soo sweet! I can't wait until I may have one up to that stage!

Yeah she is sitting. I checked the baby and it has a full crop and tiny white down bits. She pushed it under her quickly though, I could only see three eggs so maybe she is hiding another chick. Either that or the other egg. EDIT: I just changed their food and water and I just peeked through the nest hole. Good news! Chicky number 2 is officially hatched!

Any white usually means female. They both look female especially the 2nd one.

Just checked. No sign of it. I put a bit of nesting material in. Skye is in the nest box. Is he supposed tobe in there? It looks like he is feeding the chick? I though the males fed them from 2 weeks onwards?

Actually I checked this morning and a cracked egg shell was in the corner and a little pink thing was lying there! I just got back from school and it is still kicking! It's crop is full too!

Still there. I'm pretty sure it's dead-in-shell. There is more cracks on it.

I checked. Still five eggs.

14th. I may have imagined the crack but I don't think I did. Maybe Marigold damaged the egg. Here was I thinking she was doing well.

Yes, I can't see anything. No broken egg shell or anything. Might it be dead-in-shell? Oh well. As it can take a day to hatch I'll wait and see.

He's very sweet. I have no idea on mutation though.
