  1. Thanks! So she probably is eggnant? I'm watching for an egg at the moment and trying to decide on whether I want her to have another clutch. Good Things About Letting Her* More birds ( lol ) Might get another green tailed chick ( Chubba Chubs has moulted out his old tail and the new one is just as green ) I will have enough room for them as I just have enough for another huge cage. Maybe see if they are hiding other splits. Opportunity to take more pics of the little ones. Let her have a bigger family. Show my parents I am responsible. Bad Things* Might have to pay vet bills. Might lose birds. Might have more bickering hens ( not that I mind, just I have heard horror stories of hens killing each other) May have other breeding problems. I'm still weighing it all up at the moment. Any thoughts?
  2. Must have great parents!
  3. Wow! Little fatty.... ( said out of affection)
  4. Yesterday I noticed that Marigold seemed 'fat' near the vent area, which I was worried about. I did some reading up on tumours and didn't find much information. Today I was looking through some pics on my camera and found an old one I took the day before she laid her first egg. I looked up and saw Marigold and Skye mating! I know mating doesn't actually mean eggs, but just now I checked her vent. It looks pretty 'eggnant' ( I know they don't actually have pregnancies, that is just what I call it ). Also, she has been displaying some nesting habits, digging out the seed dish, chewing on things ect. What do you guys think? I hope it isn't a tumour as at the moment I have only $200 to my name ( Dad won't pay vet bills.) Other than this she seems pretty good, slightly overweight but poos are normal, she eats well and is pretty active. Also, what do I do if she does lay? Apart from remove the others? http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy62/Ra...09/SAM_0317.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy62/Ra...09/SAM_0319.jpg
  5. They are beautiful!
  6. Looking forward to eggs now!
  7. Avian vet now! Else it may be too late to save him.
  8. Looks grey from here but then my computer isn't very accurate.
  9. Second one isn't cinnamon, looks more greywing.
  10. The white one and the yellow rec pied look male, and the other one looks female. Could be just the computer though.
  11. Wowzers....
  12. My hens ( not Marigold ) are more cuddly than my male. They kiss and step up when Chubba Chubs doesn't. I'm not sure if it is because I have handled them since two weeks old or if they are just exceptions. She wouldn't be depressed if not able to breed but you may find an egg or two. That is because she is comfortable and happy.
  13. Ommie was trying to trick you, lol. That dad looks massive compared to the chick.
  14. Don't phoenixes die and then come back to life?
  15. As long as she isn't panting, on the bottom the the cage, in pain for longer than normal or hasn't passed the egg after a few hours of seemingly being about to lay, then your okay.
  16. Maybe she needs a vet check up.
  17. Tell her she looks very nice in it! Is there the right size harness for budgies?
  18. I was just wondering, how do you tell if a budgie is split rec pied if there is no spot? Is there sometimes like.... a couple of clear toenails or something? With cockatiels I think that is how you tell? I only asked because Marigold has a clear nail and I came across something on the net saying that clear nails meant they were split pied? Thanks in advance!
  19. Remember to quarantine the new ones. Oops! Almost forgot.... welcome to the forum!
  20. Is it a different bird?
  21. I'll keep an eye on him, I can't really move him to the hospital cage yet but I'll get it sorted by tommorrow.
  22. Wouldn't they have grown out of it at 5 months?
