I would suggest another budgie, male as Kaz has said is best... Plus everything Kaz has said, you would also need to buy different seed if you had a small parrot in there with your budgie... So I would get another budgie and if you do upgrade the cage get a long one not a tall one... Budgies fly across not up...

Well, last night on the news they were saying we can expect to see more price increases on Gas over the next 3yrs... Think it was 17%... :glare: What like the price increases on power, water and mortgages weren't enough...?!?! Now even more people are going to straggle just pay bills and put food on the table... People with animals, like us, will feel the pinch even more... How about we all get a pay rises to pay these raising costs in our day to day lives... :yuck: How about the Goverment do something about that...? No, that would mean they were listen to us or even care...

I agree with Dave.. Sorry to hear about the hen... We having alot of clumsy hens lately on here... Maybe we need to bring up some old topic's regarding health, bone strength, etc... Always a good read the old topic's... Hope the other birds are all okay though...

I pair up the same pair onetime, Lutino and TCB, and my girl took her time to lay as well... So i changed males and she laid a good clutch and was a great mum and than I put the TCB back in and no problems...!

When the hen and male are in breeding condition they will breed, female light to medium brown coloured cere (the bit about the beak) and the male will have a nice deep blue coloured cere... The tapping of the beaks and jumping & bobbing on the perch by the male is normal, its his way of getting her interested in breeding...

Well the cage is big enough for the birds, I'm sure other can give you more tips on changes for it if needed... You have a skyblue normal male and a pied hen of some sorts there... So yes a male and female... Welcome to the forum Cadman...

The budgies cere will let you know when they are ready to breed... And if giving a nesting box at the right time you should see eggs within weeks, give or take... But they have to be in breeding condition first...

I not sure, but I looked at the link and photo and thought no it wouldn't be safe for them... Just a feel I got from the photo and info on the link... I'm sure others can Be of better help...

I would do my research and studying of breeding show budgies and everything else that involves show budgies before starting to purchased your stock and starting to breed...
