Another Sick Budgie
thanks everyone the bird was getting much worse by today, and time was a factor. I could have gone to libby's which i would have only loved to do, but the vet was closer even if libby could have done a better job. I have pm libby about it and i hope she understands and i will definetly make sure i will meet her next time. By the way at the vets the guys said he thinks the bird is gonna die and tonight hes keeping her in a hospital cage and will take samples of poo etc and if the bird does die he will open her and check outt what had hit her as he doesnt know I am waiting for his call tommorrow morning... You guys are very lovely and kind thankyou for your support and understanding

Another Sick Budgie
this time im going to differ in opioion because for the last couple of days we have had a bird just sitting there wasting away while questions have been asked and offers put out but not being able to be taken up on we have a young person that probably hasnt got a crop tube well obiousbly hasnt done it anyway even if they did whereas on the other end everyone has a spoon and its not beyond her age and experience to try and bird is dieing anyway i know how hard it is for a adult to crop feed a very sick bird and the spoon for a young person in that situation in far better than keeping looking in the cage doing nothing but questioning you have nothing to lose in that situation at all just a thought ghazzigh, i dont want to play vets with this bird im not taking any risks i am going to see libby later on in the day the bird has survived the night but is just hanging on and she wont eat i had got a spoon of water and placed in down her throat she is okay. Just because im a bit younger doesnt mean i dont know what im doing or what you guys are talking about An dkaz yes its up to me to realsise this i have arranged to meet libby today im just waiting for her addressed. I am very upset and sad for this bird I do realise it is URGENT

Another Sick Budgie
nice offer libby you should remove any sick bird from flock soon as its spotted i remove birds that stay just a slight bit ruffled if the bird has not moved in 4 to five hours even if it pulls together and creats a chase just to remove it then it is housed in a cage in shed for up to my descreshion depending on other behavior and if im not sure as it looks good but still ruffled it gets moved to a bit bigger cage and sits for two weeks their in case my birds rearly get unwell but by staying on top of them i lessen chances of spred through out flock Thankyou libby for the nice offer, and gb for the info...this is a good learning eperience but i have now placed her in the bathroom where there are four heat lights... shes looking sicker than ever!I also placed some mineral supplemetn in the water for the extra boost, and the heat seems to be going well done in the cage. She isnt doing muchI was shocked how fragile, skinny she was when i caught her and her eyes are always half closed:( i dont want to lose this bird :sad I n the last picture the space between her rump and wings make her seem so skinny is it a good idea to cover the cage with material to trap the heat in?? Thanks again to all the reples and may someone please reply asap as this birds minutes are counted

Another Sick Budgie
okay i said in my first post she is 3 months and she hasnt mated or has got a partner so being egg-bound would be at the bottom of my list... cold,,,,i havent seen her sneezing. but it might be a possibility i have mite sprayed a few of them lately, and she doesnt have a case of scaley face as i can see. GB are you saying i might need to keep her in the house..? if so can i leave her in the balcony because my mum wont be very happy Shes outside at night right now with all the others. tommorow i ll keep her in a seperate cage in case she has a disease or something and the otheer s wont catch it. ill try and take care of her the best way i can. Ill give her the blaak teaa stuff, but what else can i give her o get her to feel better?

Another Sick Budgie
Today i saw my 3 month old albino girl hanging around the gound area tired and sleep, which is unusual because when they sleep they sleep at the top...She has soiled her vent feathers, extremely easy to catch and ver tired, and her feet are all dirty as weel and her wings are drooping and bothe feet are on the perch when fluffed up. These seem to be bad signs and i am obviously worried for this girl...What can i do for her tommorow at home I want to say i dont have a 40 watt light here and no other budgies have similar symptons

Polly The Budgie
Okay this is a true story of my budgie Polly Last year in October, i had returned from Busselton to my house where obviously the first thing i did was to see my birds and check they were al okay. But i was a very lucky girl to have checked the birds, for i heard a frightened screesching inside my violet hens nest.... i immediatly checked what was going on there. i scared out a hen from the nest which wasnt the mother  and one of my first lutinos, had a huge scar across her back:( The other four babies from that nest were taken out by the same hen. I was worried for this poor chick, so i kept him in a box with another of its sibling so it had company during its first few streessful hours of pain. I fed her with polenta (corn pasta) and after a while of keeping the pretty bird tame it would try to feed our hands.... Sadly a few days later outside in the cage the mother of polly was killed by the same budgie that hurt Polly, so i let her go and never saw the bird again. For Polly i made a little cardboard house and i clipped her wings for a while and took care of her well. She now lives outside with the others, and she is unique and i can tell her from all the other lutinos i have. She has a unique calling chirp, and just lokks the prettiest out of all the birds. Its a shame however to know that Polly has gone into other nests herself, and killed another two babies i couldnt be there for, but i suppose it is budgies instinct. Nowadays when i try catching her to take her inside for a bit it is a difficult task. But the second shes indoors, she sits on my finger and now flys around onto my shoulder, which is interesting because she still likes me. Here are some pictures of Polly

Break It To Me Gently
we should respect everyones opinions, and as liv is the owner of the birds, and she knows them best, i think she would have the wisest choice on what should happen to these birds. I see everyones point of view, and each one there are parts i agree and disagree. It might be creul to keep the birds alive, maybe not, but i think that if liv keeps these birds until they die, god had made it meant to be that way, for them to live that long, as though we are giving the birds best chance on earth while it is here....
