mmmmm. are you sure it was there beaks? the could of have accidentley stepped on the egg in a hurry or something. if there was yolk on either of there beaks the birds were trying to probably roll it underneath them and found a broken egg... if it might be the toenails i would clip them

i dont think it is a good idea to put back in any chicks or eggs in the nest while the hen is there as she will feel threatened by them and your hand and have an excuse to kill them.....sometimes the hens are just really agressive and you cant do anything about it

it is quite similar for us on adjusting to hours of sleep... i would say to do it slowly. that way then she will sleep whenever you want her to.

im another guy that doesn't like colony breeding either i have lost so many babies from this, it put too much stress on me i have only recently taken out the nests from the avairy. it is sad to see a cute baby one day, dead the next.It is sad to see a hen laying on some llittle eggs one day, the hen attacked and cracked eggs on the floor with half chicks and blood the next. it is horrible for me, like torture.. it is nice to know that we are all realising this and are slowly changing to seperate cages because less babies die.

just then i was typing up the outcomes...but i accidently deleted it all!!!!!!! sorry mate about that...if no one else does it by today i will do it soon as possible promise but i gotta get ready for fathers day just to let you know im learning too...were in it together (im 13)
