Have hatched live twins before and its very rare that they make it to hatching. That egg looks like triplets or quads :rofl: :rofl: triplet's would be a miracle wouldnt you think.... it'd make the local paper thats for sure :rofl:

Thanks, im still eager to know what exactly is the mutation of the 2nd one..... I've decided to call the first budgie "miracle" and he will now be apart of the family...

has the larger one just been recently layed... if not and it is over 5 days or so old then it looks infertile to me :rofl:

Very nice kaz, and yes it's very helpful having the side wall up higher and a see through bottom... that way the chicks are easier to see when they fledge out of the nest and like you said stop's debris of seed from getting out....

I know that kaz :rofl: , just saying that i got a similaar problem with my tiel's also.... that egg of your's could quiet possibly be a double yolker again...or maybe just a abnormal egg growth... i'd bet my money that it's a double yolker

Good point... i try to tell my boss at the pet shop the same thing.... before you buy every bird that's offered to you for low price... you should stop and think as the reason why they are getting rid of them in the first place... i always say that to customer's before handing out money to them at work... i ask them for the bird's age, have they bred before, have they had lice and such before, have they had any illness's and such.... otherwise i could be bringing a diseased bird into the shop and risk the rest getting them.... im fussy when it comes to health issue's with birds :rofl:

i got the same thing with my tiel egg's Kaz, the other 4 are normal and the other one is about 1/3 of the size

Nice cage... higher rather then wider is not usually a good thing... budgie's prefer wider space more then height... as a budgie will almost certainly want the highest perch... and that way they can still have the highest perch but alot more space for them to move around on from side to side

If it's brown as you say, then it's definitly a Hen.... here are the different color's for sex's of budgies Hen: White, Very feint blue = Out of breeding condition.... Brown crusty, tan = In breeding condition... Male: as youngen's they have a rather purplish-pinkish cere which comes to a basic blue when matured... when a male is out of condition... its usually more of a feinter blue then the darker blue.

Good choice, seperate Her and put her in another cage with another bird... that way their's 2 bonded pair's and they can live happier...

And here is picture's of the current budgie im handrearing... any idea what he might be? i know 2 things... he's spangle and opaline.... but what's his main base color? cobalt? Oh and the parent's are Male: Yellow double factor spangle(green series) and the Hen: T2YF cobalt violet opaline(As shown in the picture in the blue cage)
