Hmm interesting, The 2 baby tiel's of mine that died today had a similar problem... the shaving's were damp... i would imagine it's the humidity which is creating the air to become moist...and the poop to become more moist and possible when they moved around it moved the poop around in the mixture of shaving's causing it to dampen...??? usually heat contributes to it.... Hence, the heat mat was on 24/7 for the tiel's.

Yes certain mutations such as the recessive pied we are talking about do keep their pink cere. What I did notice is that when Pretty was more in breeding condition for a male his cere would become a deeper pink maybe this is what is happening. But you said you see brown is that actually on the cere or above the nostrils on the feathers (which can indicate respiratory issues). From the picture I see he looks male. Until i see more updated photo's, im sticking with male.

You gifted him as the "guilty father" :rofl: he's a VERY nice dommie pied... you will most likely get spangles though, which isnt so bad cause i've got a full nest of spangles right now as well :rofl: ...

Hmm... a larger picture would be good. i see spangle... and maybe cinnamon... cant tell with the rest though.
