My Feather Dusters.........dusty And Jumbo
It can have any disease a normal budgie can have. But having the long feathers is a disease it is born with, and the only way other budgies can get it is by breeding.

I Gave My Budgie Freedom
Budgies dont survive well in the wild. Did you let it go outside or inside? I Hope it was inside

What To Do?
How big are the aviarys? I would go baby's/ juveniles in one aviary, and breeding birds in the other.

Light Blue Budgie With White Wings Cross Lutino
And Albino is a bird that is all white, red eyes. A lutino is the green version of this, so it is all yellow with red eyes. Yellowface is a colour in blue birds that makes their white feathers face feathers (and some other parts of their body) go yellow. On an albino bird, the white face is the brightest, with yellow bleeding through the body. YF Albino is a softer yellow, compared to lutino: Lutino: http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/870/959377.JPG

Cobalt Cross Yellow Face Half Green Half Blue
I think you have a yellowface cobalt hen and a violet cock. Without knowing what the birds are split for, the only true prediction we could make is all blues/violets, all normals and about half yellowface. Your hen bird would also need to be split pied to get rec. pieds.

Light Blue Budgie With White Wings Cross Lutino
I think the hen lookes to be YF Albino, But as mentioned we need some bigger pictures Do you have a camera you could borrow to take some? I know it is hard getting them on phones, as they are quite small.

Trouble With Breeding Show Budgies.....
Most I would go would be two, especially if they are full rounds (I go max. 4 chicks) but if she only had one or two chicks in each I would possibly let her go for a third. Or foster her eggs out on the third.

Green Tail?
If lexi is in condition, I think go for it! I personally think he will have matured enough by now, I have bred birds at 10 months (only cocks though)

Green Tail?
Are you letting them breed?

Has Anyone Had Experience With This?
Also, A budgie couldnt get through the bars on the zapper - It is only the internal middle spine that actually kills.

Egg-Bound Hen? - Some Help Please!
I am hoping someone can help me with some troubles I am having! I only have one cabinet of breeding birds left. The hen just began laying a few days ago, her first egg being a very wonky one on the 22nd of Dec. She laid a second (normal shaped one) on the 24th. So that means she was due to lay another on the 26th. She didn't lay one that day, so I was certain she would have one this morning when I got up (27th). She has had an egg bum, the last few days. I have a feeling she is egg bound, but what do I do? She is a very nice hen and I don't want her to die! I keep on going up to the cage expecting her to be dead. She should be laying another egg tommorow also!?

Enhancing Diet?
Thankyou so much GB! I appreciate it soo much! ( I am sure my birds do also!) Your a superstar! Breeding cabinet: Mason jar of seed mix D-cup with water two small d-cups (like the show cage cups) with hulled oats in one and parrot mix in one finger draw with grit saucer for soft food Does that sound better?

Flubber - What Mutation Please?
Well that's a first...me actually making sense
-
Flubber - What Mutation Please?
When I say normal, I meant just the one mutation. Not opaline rec. pied, or spangle rec.pied. Every bird has a base colour. White or Yellow. The white is lacking melanin(The amount of pigmentation in the feathers) So if you take all off the colour out of something, it turns white. Blue is with the white. If you add in the yellow into the pigmentation, white + yellow = yellow, blue + yellow = green. The reason you dont call them that is because ( I think) you get different shades of green's/blues . So there is light green (your hen) green, and grey green. Same with blue. Sky blue, cobalt and mauve.Instead of referring to the birds as a white rec. pied, or a yellow rec. pied, it a sky blue rec. pied or a light green rec. pied. Good luck to making any sense with that Another member please correct me if wrong!

Enhancing Diet?
I am thinking some thing to add to aviary: - Dish for small parrot -Dish for grit - dish for hulled oats More veggies fresh every other day or so Cabinets: Finger draw with grit, one with small parrot and one with hulled oats. I will then buy some mason jar feeders ( I have been needing them for a while!) and when I serve soft food putting it into their old d-cup feeders) Getting oranges and lemons, and giving in the middle of the week between soft food. Thanks for the info GB! How does my plan sound? Anyone else have any idea's/opinions?
