Thanks Kaz and Splat... She made it through the night having 3/4 hourly feeds of hand raring mix with the heat lamp on all night. Kaz: I will keep them in the kindy cage longer now over winter... Splat: What is Sulpha AVS? Is it the same as Sulpha D?

I put my 11 week old healthy babies in the avairy on Saturday..... This afternoon there was one of those baby's on the cold cement, I grabbed it and put it in a hospital cage with a heat lamp...it ate hand raring mix with gutso.....looks very sick though....very thin.....all other babies are doing great..... I have noticed it has a poopy bum.......none of my other birds do...I have 2 broad spectrum antibiotics here but I don't want to self diagnose........ Whay should I do other than what I'm doing????

Thanks for your input GB...... I had a bad feeling about this so as much as I want to give this bird a good new home I am not going to take the risk....

I have been asked to take a so called "runner" budgie that can't fly as the owners can't keep it anymore. It has never had flight feathers on one wing. I have not yet seen the bird.... If I were to adopt this bird after normal quarentine would it be able to be introduced to my flock? Or would it pass on whatever it has to my birds....... Is this caused by beak and feather disease or would it have french moult?? Are these always contagious??

Hi Gracegarden and welcome to the forum.... I believe it depends on the personality of the individual bird... When you find a friendly one don't be put off because its female..... I have about 60 birds in my avairy and there are 2 hens that always come and jump on me when I'm in the avairy and they have never been tamed...none of the males do...... Good luck !

I normally stick to silverbeet, but they look as though they are loving the bok choy.....I'll give it a go!!

Just an update on these two....I've named her 'Sweets".......how good does she look !!! I'm really trying not to get my hopes up as my last one went downhill after the first week and then passed away .. ... And "Poker" is going great as well.... So far so good.... Also the ring on 'poker' is gold/copper colour......what year is that? I can't read it??

The DF hen was the one that didn't feed her chicks....I fostered the 2 chicks that hatched and it's from left to right the first violet one and the third one from the left is little Kazzy....
