You look like the detective from 'Life on Mars' (I think). http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0408284/mediaindex
  2. Females can be just as tame but when they decide to bite it will hurt more than when a male budgie bites (usually). Also males find talking easier as they're generally more vocal, female budgies can talk too though.
  3. I was leaning towards her lately over the grey green, I thought the grey green at 1st because she's more solid. I didn't breed the cock so I don't know if he's split blue or not but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed
  4. And I have a chance of getting blue dominant pieds (if he's split blue).
  5. I'm glad this forum is finally welcoming ewes!

The simple answer is people are crazy and colour blind people shouldn't name birds after the colour they think they are
  7. Opinions anyone???
  8. I have female budgies that head bob and 'court' other female budgies. Also females can be just as out going and rambunctious as their male counterparts.
  9. Let's go back to the good old days where we grunt and when we draw a mammoth on the cave wall it means mammoth
  10. What are striations?

'00' he's getting on in years, hope he still fills eggs for you. He's a very nice bird, I named my oldest bird Grandpa and he's an 04 bird.
  12. Deliciou did grow some nice tasting apples though!
  13. Thanks for clearing up me and I
  14. Thanks, he's one of my best birds so I'd like to share him around a little. Thinking about the hen in this thread for his 2nd http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....mp;#entry308597 Shown here Or this one Which one do you think would make a better 2nd pairing for him?
  15. But then poor Henry doesn't get a mention at all Poor Henry....
  16. So how long should I rest him after he's raised a batch of chicks with one hen before I put him with another? From the above posts I'm thinking maybe no rest required?
  17. That's what I learnt too. I also learnt that you should say the other person's name and I as well and not their name and me, eg. "Henry and I" not "Henry and me" but last year on 'Are you Smatter than a Fifth Grader' they had a question that proved me wrong.
  18. I was actually thinking of breeding him to one hen letting them raise the babies and after the chicks had fledged and were independent putting him with another hen after a rest. Wasn't considering putting him with two hens at once. That photo is about a month old and he doesn't have scaley face, I'll take another closer look at him tomorrow and treat him if he still looks the same. I think adding opaline to the light green dominant pied really seems to add to the vibrancy of the green.
  19. I'm thinking about putting my Light Green Dominant Pied cock down to breed with two different hens and was wondering how long I should give him a break for after the 1st nest before breeding him with the second hen?
  20. I'll see what happens
  21. I'm pretty sure that you can't have a bird that's split for Dominant Pied it can be double factor Dominant Pied but no splits so the spot would have to be a Recessive Pied indicator since you can have birds split for Recessive Pied. Anyone more knowledgable correct me if I'm wrong
  22. I don't know if I have a breeding pair, I have two that I hope are male and female. Even if I have two boys that wouldn't be too bad as I know someone with a girl (it layed an egg) and they'd let me use her for breeding.
  23. Linda_S replied to a post in a topic in Cage Discussion
This could work I think but it would differ depending on the type of cage you had.
  24. If your talking about the washed out wing markings they might not necessarily leave her after she moults and they aren't exactly typical, at least I haven't seen to many budgies like that. On the picture of her from the back she looks like she has no wing markings in patches at all. She's a cute little bird regardless, I'd like to try and breed minature budgies one day. When you look at how much bigger they've got with selective breeding imagine what we could get if we went the other way
  25. Linda_S replied to Mikey's topic in What Sex Is My Budgie?
I can definately tell it's a budgie from those pics but that's about it Put it in photo shop and blew it up (bits of budgie everywhere) it got really blury, if I had to hazzard a guess from that picture I'd say female but I'm not at all confident on it at all. Even a slightly larger picture or a closer up one might help.
