yeah that works a treat I tryed it the other day. Now my bird have never had a bath before I've tryed with all different sized of dishes and whatnot but they have never gone for it. (but then i didn't care since they loved showers) But put some lettuce in the water and they loved it.

YAY glad to hear that all is going well with the new babies. Yes the mother feeds the young for the frist while then the farther starts to help with the feedings.
  8. Thank you Julie Older hey, hmmmm, well they were done a few years back but I haven't changed.
  9. Thanks all ((Huggles)) to Devvel :(Laughing out loud): thanks so much I had a ball that night even if i'm not one for dresses
  10. that is how i feel 100% gee wish I could have thought to put it that way
  11. Thanks, I was of cause dressed up for my formal :(Laughing out loud): or in other words prom for those of you that know it by that name Some days i'm lucky to get my hair to curl in ringets like that but most of time it is just a fuzzball.
  12. as rainbow siad keep him warm, all the time he is fluffed up he is wating energy to stay warm, energy he could use instead to fight that ever is the matter with him. A bed lamp would be fine or if you can put him out in direct sunligh is very good (way from the wind) You can give him easy to digest food like lettuce, any other vegges, furit or some egg mash.

as rainbow said bove But i read that the colour of the baby fluff doest give an idication of colour and of cuase silly me has forgotten wich way around it is, but I think it was white for blue and grey for green. May be totally wrong so got hold out if your after a certain colour just from this.
  14. Well here I am First up me looking my best with a formal picture: and me again at my 21st b'day: sorry if the last is a bit grainy but i had to cut it down from a bigger picture. Then again it might be a goood thing protecting your eyes from the sight of me :(Laughing out loud):

you can try the candling for about day 5 I believe but if this is your first time don't throw them out if you don't see anything then, for you just may be wrong. It will not hurt the ma to sit on empty eggs and may keep her in the box sitting correctly for the soon to be egg following these two.

I'm would not be shocked if they amazed you and ate it now Freckle was just getting use to the idea of greens and veges but ate it like it was going out of fashion when she was feeding her babies. If you just want to try them with some egg food a simple way is to hard boil an egg and mash it up with grated carrot or even on it own and see if they will eat it.

you can put wood shavings in the bottom of the nest tho most hens it seems like nothing in there. hand feeding formula in case you need to help out or take over fully. some egg buscuit mix to feed the parents. and fresh veggies and greens the seem to love that while feeding young. err i'm sure there is more but my mind is blank right now.
  19. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
yeah I've read about that, if in reall need as in you know the hen is eggbound you can rub some around the vent which is meant to help too. Glad to hear you little one is okay now
  20. sounds like she was pucking becuase she wanted them out for the next lot, but since it seems you are giving them another round I would keep an extra eye on her becuase pucking becomes a habbit and the next lot can end up the same way.
  21. she is great, I wanted to kill her at 5.30 am this morning when she wanted to prove how great she was by singing to the others and running all over her cage. :glare: Just lucky the other knew it was a crazy time to be awake and didn't answer. (Laughing out loud) She is back to ripping things up just like her normal self and I think she going to be just fine now. edit to add- and thank you for thinking of us
  22. Yep and it did me wonders too to see her happy again . heres to hoping for more sunshine state weather. (Laughing out loud)
  23. : As if it wasn't bad enough !!! I'm glad today that I had a wonderful idea in thinking the very best heat lamp you could ever have is: ****drumroll**** The sun. I took Freckle out and put her dead out in the sun were no shade to get to her for aobut an hour and a half. She picked right up, she wasn't fuffed at all and was dancing all over the cage and she started to sing out to the wild birds that flew over. I took my thermonitor out to see what the temp was and it ended up at 36/37 c which is the the temp the vet said was good for her. I took the others out too and they got the added joy of a shower
  24. I'll hold you that Dwells, (Laughing out loud). thanks for the tip I didn't know that. If I ever need to get an electrical thing I will be asking about that
