  1. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=6992 Try here for lesson about the different mutations.
  2. The thin markings make a spangle. Yes an Opaline had a 'v' shape in the middle of the back with the same colour as the body and the edge of the wing feahers are the smae colour as the body as well.
  3. Yep your right the blue one is an opaline What are you wanting to know with the others? THe middle one is a grey recessive pied. The right one is a yellowface grey recessive pied.

boy that looks painful. But you state he had been like that for a while now and I think like you said it's here to stay. So we do what we can to make it comfortable for him. He looks as if he is balancing correctly. He doens't fall often? I would replace the straight dowel sticks with nature or fruit tree branches. That way more exceris etot he feet when ever he moved as they are twisty and different sides, this will help work the feet and stop (or at least halt) Arthritis. The twist to be body might just be him equaling ou the problem with the foot. Has he ever been taken to the vets? It might be an idea to suggest that to your daughter so he can get checked out from head to crooked toe
  5. Tweety is ?sky? blue yes Daffodil is a pied - can't remember if it is australian or dutch with her clearflights and pied spot? She does have what looks like some blue tinges of colour around her legs and vent. well all green bird have blue in them, calling her Clearflight pied is good Tazzy is a recessive pied? yes To me Wylie look blue reather than the turquoise look of Star. In that second picture of Beka makes her look clearwing.

woot Glad to hear it. Fingers crossed for the next step now
  7. *Hits head.* Why didn't I think of this before. I was answer Shawna's post about her bird's colours. And remembered the two different looks of what we call yellow face. The ones that look like Rainbow's lot and even aqua type colour and then ones like my Marine, patchy. I wounder if this is the differance between them? yelowface bing the smooth colour and the patch being the goldenface (as that site stated)
  8. Tweety- I think dilute. (did we think she was opaline too?) Sylvester- I would say goldenface. Wylie- yellowface type 1 and not a cinnamon. Beka- is that her normal colour? If so I would think greywing. Daffodil- dark green, Meaning she has one dark factor. Tazzy- I say violet Star-yellow face type 2

aww they are just so cute The last one is a spangle recessive pied.
  10. Dingo- becase of the spangle gene. Well reading that site it sounds like they are calling a golden face a bird that looks like the second picture I put up. Belco- yours is stilla a babie s/he could be a type one or two but you can't really say for sure until the molt where the bleed will start to show.
  11. so very cute . I love velco's colours.
  12. Sure. I took so many when I first set it up :ausb: Chirpy don't panic If it looks like too many in there I'll be using the old cage to hold a couple while I plan and set up my avairy. here is the link to all the pictures: http://photobucket.com/albums/v406/NerwenFuzz/cage%20pics/

Yes Shawna they are spangles :ausb: and cute ones at that. The first two are pied spangles. Nice pictures. I can't get a chest one with my baby budgies they don't stay turned over long enough for me :(Laughing out loud):
  14. Mine flew away from the box when there where just checking it out still and I walked in. Seems she is at last looking into it as a breeding site, the noises would be to 'chase' something inside away.
  15. thanks It's so funny the differance between the oldest two. I had them both out together today, and Squeaker just hid away in the crook of my elbow while Echo ran around on me stretching his neck out. :ausb: I have a feeling he is a 'he'. Now lets just see if I'm right.
  16. :(Laughing out loud): I have that cage :ausb: It's super great. I have six in there with ease. In a few weeks I can let you know it it take more
  17. Yes they can lovey :fear Light grey mid grey and dark grey. I would say ALL babies will be opaline.
  18. That is how ost define it and I don't see a porblem with that but will most of my readings I think it's just the name given to the same gene in different area's of the world. Goldenface: Yellowface type2:
  19. yeah Blues, the males will be split for ino.
  20. :hap: I'm just seeing Three very happy budgies enjoying all that space in the flight.
  21. 10 points to Bea :ausb: Yep. That means some where I have opaline in the line and Ino (since I believe Reep is also a clearbody) Oh I must say a big thanks to Hurdy for opening my eyes to the fact that Tootie is a yellowface. I don't know how I didn't see it before. But that's the only answer that fits with the outcome of these babies
  22. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Trip To The Vet
If the box isn't moved or bashed, then the bird will settle down and rest, just as if it as night. It's only the time of being putinto the box and the moving of the box to the car and vet that will be a bit stressful to him.
  23. Some will be single factor spangles some normal and then you will get double factor spangles will will look like lutinos but with black eyes. It's not a bad thing to have dilute at all, just remember it's a recessive gene.
  24. So had I Anna :ausb: I don't think I will again. Pictures, backwards this time : Scuttle, bit confused the wings look whitish but there is yellow on the head and a tail like mum and Reep: Reepiceep(look close at wings ) : Berry, sorry the first is fuzzy but how cute : Echo, sitll an angel: Squeaker, found his cutness again:
  25. :(Laughing out loud): Well then I guess it will be a shock if it doesn't look like him this time. I hope it's fertile and we get to find out
