is that on the ladder thing you made them? Yes that me asking about where the shots where taken and not mentioning the fact that they are all stunning
  2. Yes it is possible, if he is split for the pied gene. There isn't a way to tell that just looking at the bird though so it's pot luck. If he isn't split for blue then all the babies will be green. The females of this pairing will be opaline.
  3. Ho it's great news that you have another cltuch you can foster to. Since they are still young the needs a few feed during the night, just like human babies. When they are older that will stop.

Thank you so much for the shot of Jelly. She is still a little angel. Boy Patrick is Handsome!! Just look at that blue.
  5. Ouch how did you keep your hand still!!
  6. Not that worried with Echo and Squeaker, but Suttle only have one little adventure out of the box today and it was by falling head first into the ground from the nest hole I was thinking of removing Tootie and if Marine start to take it out on the bubs then try plan 3.
  7. violet normals and violet spangles all split recessive pied, males split cinnamon cobalt normals and spangles green spangles and normals all split dilute and YF green spangles and green normals Females will be opaline (either spangle or normal) all chicks will be split recessive pied and blue (YF) YF blue recessive pied and YF violet (sf like cobalts) recessive pied possible whiteface blue recessive pieds All males split cinnamon Females will be opaline as well. YF normals and white face blue normals
  8. Well Marine and Tootie are antsy to start the next round ( which of cuase i'm not allowing but they don't seem to listen to me.) Marine is getting a bit nasty to Echo, only him for some reason is the big target :ausb: he hates any of them on his 'mating' branch. And just now when he was flirting with Tootie he didn't even like him on the ground. When Echo tried to get back in the box Tootie wouldn't let him. So I now have to work out which would be the best way to go. 1- Remove Tootie from the cage. I think Marine is now feeding all the babies. But what will Marine do once his lvoe is taken away? Will he get really mad with the young ones? 2- Remove Marine. But will Tootie continue feeding the ones that need some or start attacking them all out or in the box? 3- Remove the older chicks. I'm not 100% sure they they are eating on their own yet. It's nothing major yet, Echo give back almost all he gets, but I don't want it getting out of hand here.

Thank for that Budgie bird I thought I had read the whole thread. :ausb: Poor Little Snowy.
  10. aww I didn't expect such a large patch on his head! Poor little toby.
  11. By beaks I hope you mean cere Yes she is a cutiepie of a girl.
  12. I would do as Lovey daid, if oyu can move the food closer to the box so she doesn't have to leave ten any longer than needed to fill up and feed them. If there is still one egg yet to hatch the mum is doing the feeding o babies herself and was only getting food from dad. They can hadle the work load alone but it mean no second clutch.

Stunning Are the breeders staying in the box together just with out the box or have you put them all back into the flight? Chime looks like an angel there, but where is little snowy?
  14. I think Dilute But I'm not seeing any signs for a yellowface. There isn't a hint of blue around the legs or neck that woul lead to that muation. I think Buddie is just a normal green dilute. As the others have asked is he beak okay? It's the first think i noticed it looks as if the bottom bit has been broken off. Plus it doesn't look shiny and smooth which is why others are asking about scaly face.
  15. He is getting there, this is all I saw of Marine and tootie and you know they turned out. Now as they are getting redy for round two they don't care who is watching and I can see he has better balance now. Give them space and few time tries I'm sure something will good right.
  16. Inside i'm putting gravel then river sand on the top, or maybe pavers I have to work out which would be easiest and what I can afford If I get pavers not sure if I can get the quails for the bottom. As to a bird bath I would rather give them a container of water to splash in where I can watch them. I would panic that one had an accident in the middle of the night and drowned. Thanks all for the kind words Power Puff Girls huh Daz can't trick us now with 'my daughter watches it' Una- that is why we named this one so we could get a plaque for it It was my mum that came up with the winning name
  17. I read the question ot mean the look the same as each other. But they arn't the same thing. Makes sence to me, the DEC has recessive pied genes and they have the plum coloured eyes. Yep a purleish /red.
  18. as Mary jane says. For the first one one your parent birds is carrying the violet gene or is a violet themselves by looks cobalt. Would love to see some pictures.
  19. Thank Bea
  20. Ahh yeah Cinnamon I can see the brown now where I was seeing more grey before. Cinnamon also weakens the colour on the body a bit.
  21. Best not to give him the taste for them
  22. No the picture didn't show the full glory of it It's just cuase I forgot to remove my rings before I started. And here I was thinking I would get comments on the name I gave it :
  23. UPDATE !! It was nice and cool this afternoon as it sprinkled a bit with a cool wind so I did some work on the avairy, which has now been named and from here on in will be known as Tweetaville. I dug up the ground inside (and choped a earth worm in half ) to level it out so the hole inside is filled. It will need a little bit more there still as the groun compacts down. But it's getting there, I had to add some dirt to the outside as well to keep the bricks in place and to make mowing easier later on. I took a picture for you. (of cuase) New look Tweetaville: My poor little hand with a blister (proof that I did the work):
  24. okay thanks for that info, I thought it was like that.
  25. Each parent still gives one dark factor each. One with two dark factors will always give a dark factor to their offspring. Ahh when the violet gene is mixed with the green ( or normal) gene you get a bird that looks like an Olive. We could be wrong about what Radar is but I do think he is a grey-green. Looking at hotLips again I forgot she was a dilute (clearwing?) That would lighten te body colour so she could have a dark factor gene if she is cobalt.
