    All still super cute
  3. darling are you sure he is recessive? the wing paterns tend to match that of a dominant pied.

  8. He got a bit better but nothing what I thought would be successful. Even by the last egg it didn't look like he was doing anything correctly. But I believe now there were mating correctly early in the mornings.

Aww look at the fuff ball
  16. not yet I hope to later today. They are all so cute. I had to change things again. Marine was most upset about Tootie missing and at one point had one of the white face babies pinned to the ground ( I think it was Echo) So I did as Daz said removed the box added Tootie back in and gave the babies a small box to hid in in the back of the cage for a little while. Marine is happy and is not paying attention to the babies now. Tootie is fine with out the box but Squeaker has turned into a bully and is pulling at the others feathers. If he doesn't settle in the next few hours then I will just have to move him out of the cage and into the spare one.
  17. Yes he would step up and then fall off. He would also try to mount her the wrong way around. That was funny to see.
  18. I don't like to take the box until the babies have left it for themself a few times. The elest ones are now spending the day out of the box but scuttle and Reep still stay inside. Tootie did what I was expecting and had an egg last night. She is now in a cage by herself and the egg removed. She did well considering I took her from the box not even a red mark so show the bite spot ( bea) Marine called/s for her a bit but no sign of anger to the chicks. I hope in the next few days to remove the box.
  19. Yeah That sound a bit like nesting behaviour the hen like to chew bark and such in the wild the only thing they have in the cage is a cuttle bone or food treats (mine did that too Kender) Becuase it's spring your way that is the high point for hormones. It's no worry that they are stripping the cuttle bone just watch the male and female interaction. Even if they don't try to mate you might see some bonding to give you an idea who to match with who.
  20. WIth Ino the boys don't change from pink cere to blue cere in grown ups. So it's hard to tell the age of them. The best thing to look for iare the baby black eyes. If there is a hint of a white ring it means they are anywhere from 4 months and plus. Females on the other hand change cere colours like normal so one with a light blue cere would be a young hen.
  21. aww but then you would have cute little oz-man
  22. Just be careful when he is flying it may cause unbalancing and he could fall of perches or crash into things while flying. The other wing feathers should grow in soon.
  23. Thank it just helps to settle the mind to write about and get other views on it. I know now Dad is doing all the feeding since I saw him feeding Scuttle the youngest. And he is doing a good job with them all. The trouble is only when tootie is around and he has ..other things on mind.. Since they wake me at 6 I will take her out then, They have all gotten back in the box for night time naps, and watch over them.
  24. so cute I'm iwth bea the body looks like it will turn into a real teal colouring. Has he got a name?
