Budgie Breeding Sounds?
quickness just depends on who is on Is this your first time breeding? what do your budiges look like? Oh and I also remembered if there is any shavings or such in there the hens will dig around in it making a nest, that is a very noisy affair (i've listened to that for the last week)

Breeding Time
I think my girls are in sinc with eah other or something :(Laughing out loud): I checked Tootie's box and found her in there tail bobbing and all (luckly she just glared at me to leave ) so I thought I'ld check on Ringo (this is about the time I do so each day) and shock horror there is an egg sitting there. It should be clear since she still hates Kree but at least she knows what to do unlike her mother. Not sure if I should leave it there for her to brood or not. But it's staying for now. About 5 mins later Tootie hopped out of the box so I ducked over to check and her first little Eggie appeared Pen's close by so I marked it, ( i did the same to Ringo's too) This time i thought I would put their itial on the egg too (even though I'm using different colours) and just as I wrote the "t" I relised this egg now has IT on it :(Laughing out loud): Well Tootie was not please with me working so fast she was in the box glaring up at me and I had to replace it infront of her. But she welcomed it back with ease. So Now like Kirby I'm counting downs the days 22nd of september is the 'H' day ( H for hatch ) Just got piccies: sorry the ones of Ringo/egg are fuzzy but to get the camera in place I had to stand on tippy toes and couldn't see what it was focusing on. Ringo: and her egg: I think I'll leave it for 5-6 day and candle it before either removing or Freaking! Tootie: and egg: Oh and I have a name idea but I'm not going to state until a chick appears.

Budgie Breeding Sounds?
:(Laughing out loud): Well in the box the male will just be flirting and perhaps feeding the hen. The actally mate on the perch. The warbling that the male does gets loud and continuious when breeding.

Chico's New Friend....was I Wrong?
All sounds like it tuned out alright, just watch them both for any signs of sickness. Grooming each other is a normal behaviour of bonding ( this doesn't mean breeding) grooming the hard to reach places such as around the beak and eyes is a high level of trust between the two.

Breeding Time
YAY it will be fun to have baby budgies the same age across the world Daz your going to get some wonderful looking birds. Dingo you are right How long do you think someone should leave a pair together before deciding it isn't going to work?? Kree has started to warble along with Marine but do so mostly when Ringo is hiding in the box and she still chases him off the perches. Doesn't even want to listen to his wonderful singing So two week? or longer.

Finally! Theres Action . . .
:(Laughing out loud): gald she is okay, are you right with the age now or did you miss something?? She is in a the cicle of egg laying now and will lay more even if you stop them now. I would let them continue, if they can't handle any chicks you have the other pair you can foster to. As to the prodtived mother I started using a pen to 'shoo' Tootie out when I wanted to look, it meant she could attack all she wanted but I still got my way

Identification Help
Yes there is such a thing as a yellow face type 2 DEC and it looks like oyu might have one. The cere looks pink so you might have a young male there if the cere changes to blue or the bird gets iris rings then Andro would be a YF tpye2 Double Factor Spangle. Opps forgot to talk about the blue one, Orion. The wings look grayish to me and there can be different level of darkness and lightness in the wings for greywings just like there are different shades of cobalts but they are all still cobalts.

Breeding Time

Can You Have A Hermaphrodite Budgie :|
sorry I keep forgetting how confusing it can all sound. Out of breeding contition means she isn't in the peak of feritily cycle. They can still breed and lay eggs but there is a bigger chance of the eggs being clear. If a hen thinks she has a great nesting site she can start to lay eggs even if she isn't in a cage with a male, I was just letting you know she might see the coconut as something more than just something to chew. Does that help some more?

Updated Pics
:(Laughing out loud): I added the box on the weekend and have seem them mate on tues and just earlier today. Good luck with Belle I can't wait to hear that you have little eggies from this pair.

Can You Have A Hermaphrodite Budgie :|
It sounds like the moult she just had took her out of condition to breed, this happens at least once a year and the brown(pink) crusty cere peels away to a bluey/white colour. It takes about 3-6 months to get back up to breeding condition with the crusty cere back. Also did you know when they first started to breed budgies in England they used coconuts? She might see her 'toy' as a nesting site. Also with the season of breeding just starting for the wild it's not a good mix.

Yf Grey + Dark Factor?
in the grey dark factors just darkent he grey, so you have light grey (none) grey (one) and dark grey (two) the dark grey is lighter in colour to the arco one.
