  1. Hi Dnow, I'm new here too... WELCOME Firstly, if you breed a green bird with a blue bird, unless the green bird is split for blue, you will always get green babies. Secondly, it would be good to get pictures of the pair to properly identify them. I'm not sure what you mean by DF pied. If you are talking about double factor pied, you are probably meaning double factor dominant pied, since a recessive pied by nature needs two recessive genes to show as a recessive pied budgie. If thats the case...... you will most likely not produce recessive pied babies, unless the dominent pied female is also carrying the recessive gene. (Which dom pieds can do). You will most likely get 100% green dominant pieds which will be split for recessive pied. But thats if my assumptions are correct. Best to post photos to be sure. Hope this helped. Kazzy

  3. Hi everyone, I just joined the forum after using the site for about 6 months as a guest while learning about breeding budgies. I just started breeding budgies at the beginning of this year. (I met GenericBlue when I bought my first breeding pair from her at the start of the year) I have about 30ish budgies at home at the moment. Here are some pictures: My Lacewings: One of my first budgies 'Daisy'. She is a green, opaline, spangle. My kids love her as she is so tame and never bites them. 'Violet' is a violet, opaline, cinnamon, spangle and her mate a violet, recessive pied http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr13/ka...et/DSC02878.jpg This is "Gorgeous" (Cobalt, Opaline, Yellow Face) and his girl "Big Bird" who is a lutino split for blue http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr13/ka...et/DSC02165.jpg[/img] This is "Misty" (Grey, opaline, cinnamon) This is "Blueberry" (Cobalt, Opaline, Violet) This is "Lollipop" (Cobalt violet, Cinnamon, clearwing, spangle/Opaline) Violet, Dominant Pied, Opaline spangle hen & her partner Violet Double dominant pied or Violet, Double factor spangle, dominant pied (don't know his genetics yet) Three of my newest members: Thanks for checking them out.
  4. Hi Cord, Hello mate! You inspired me to join the forum after I read this thread about you stuggling. So glad to hear you are staying. This forum is a great way to keep in contact with like minded people like us. (Crazy Bird Lovers!) Love seeing your pictures. Maybe you can help me understand what to do as I get started in understanding the site. Love Ya Babe. Kazzy
