Well I am still not out of it yet. I still need to get the final inspection for the building permit. But I have 18 months to do it. Until then the Aviary is going to be here.

New Avairy
Well an unexpected inspection from the Council through the week. They just arrive unanouced to inspect the birds for my annual permit. I like that idea as it catches those not doing the right thing. They don't have a chance to get the sick birds out and "pritty" the set up. I have been given the highest mark in the shire for cleanliness and health management. I have been told that my aviary rates either in the highest quality or the highest quality aviary in the shire :fear. I have a full 12months permit for the birds and he looks forward to returning next year to see how things are going.

Disaster In The Baby Aviary
Hi Splat, I am glad the vet is in control and that the Chemist is helping too. I hope it is only a case of Cocci and that the birds respond. I'll keep an eye on this topic. All the best.

Totally Heart Broken. Hen Just Killed Her Partner
Splat, This is terrible news. You have all my support. This is one of the bad side of what we do. It takes a strong person to be a breeder, especially a show breeder. There are many down falls to this hobbie and just when you think you are getting through it some thing else hits you. But this is what formes the stronge bond between Show Breeders, this is what gives us the strength is knowing that we can rely on other breeders to help us because they have also been through this. It a pity we are so far apart.

Clarky Show Prospect Or No? Maybe A Breeding Prospect?
Any size can be rung but the pet birds are rung a little later that the show birds. Do to size. Elly it's the Grey green that adds size to a green. Pairing to light green all the time can reduce size.

Clarky Show Prospect Or No? Maybe A Breeding Prospect?
Just unraveling him for a class. His class is the Dominant Pied Class. He would be considered as a Dominant Pied, Yellowface Opaline Skyblue Cock. It would be good to see him stand. Mask: Good. You could get some acceptable spots out of that. I would be pairing him to a normal hen to see if you could unravel him.

Clear Flights & Dominant Pied:
Of course you can have a Dominant and recessive genes in the same bird. A dominant will be split for recessive If you pair a Clearflight to a recessive you get a Clear Flight/recessive. Pair a Clearflight/recessive to a recessive and you get 25% DEC

Another Sick Bird
Hi Spalt shouldn't be sour crop that is a problem the chicks get before weening. If he is April hatched he would be 3 to 4 months old. Have you had a chance to talk to a vet about the problems you are having?
