  3. The heady paint fumes are to begin. As you see the Show cages are only under coated... I have 35 at my place to start giving a sand and start the white coats.
  4. You could say I've been busy building a couple of Holding cabinets and Show Cages...... 170 Show cages and 23 triple Holding cages that can be converted into a breeding Cabinet. Just about all of these are going to Rockhampton for this year's nationals.
  5. Usually you will see that the chicks have plum coloured eyes at a young age.

  12. No problems Nubbly... I think there will always be some missing information.. It gives a air of Mistery to the fancy. ...... i hear that there is talk of a normal being produced from a pair of DF Spangle? That will go against the beliefs.
  13. Great shots of the bird Mark, Do you do your own photography?
  14. Curiosity... why hold it on a monday when people have to work?
  15. ... you don't keep bad hens. Feeding as well as breeding is a feature that yoiu try to enhance in your aviary. But my comment was not about bad feeding hens, it was about the difference in feeding that some hen do. The difference comes from a well fed younger chick compaired to a "Stuffed" older chick.
  16. Well you might be surprised.. There can be a big differnece in one nest from the oldest to the youngest depending on the feeding habbit of the hen.,
  17. You should be very proud Mark... Are we in SQ going to be facing some of your birds in Rockhampton this year? :hmm:

  23. I am upgrading the holding cage in my garage... This has nothing to do with the up coming Wynnum Auction So I have done up a plan to make the new cabinet. Here are the plans if anyone wants to take a look. >HOLDING CAGE PLANS<

Sorry for your loss. If the hen is to lay eggs, she can look after them dherself. i would leave her in the breeding cage for a few weeks to see. If she is in the breeding season, i wouldn't replace the cock bird as the new one could be considered as a rival and she could attack him.
