Think Before You Introduce Your New Bird Without Quarantine Procedures
I only buy things like vitamins, feeders etc from them now. Terrible ventilation in the bird room - the smell!! Yes thats right, you do know the place then. It's not as bad as a produce place at Bald Hills. That one is bad.

How Do You Track Your Birds?
I know that Adam is using The Budgerigar Program but what Programs are you using. I started using Aviary Manager - and found it to be a good basic program. For a small outfit it works good. You can download an evaluation copy for 30 days to see if you like it. I did and then registed it. Then I found Bird Tracker I like it so much that I have bought a copy. It should be arriving in the next 3 to 6 weeks from the USA.. Strange it should be quicker as it's all down hill from there . You can down load a 60 day evaluation copy. Thats what I have running know. Bird Tracker can help with who's who as in parents grand parents and so forth. But any way, back the question. How do you track your birds?

Think Before You Introduce Your New Bird Without Quarantine Procedures
Karen What a terrorible experence. Thank you for sharing what must have been very painful. Just one thing. Was the place you bought the birds from Hooper St West Ipswich. I went in there to day and quickly left. The birds not in a very good location. I think a check from the RSPCA is in order.

looking for a partner?
4 months isn't really that long for your male to wait. Budgies won't breed unless they are happy with their surroundings. If there isn't suitable breed boxes and food and light they will not breed.

What mutation(s) is this?
lol Rainbow I downloaded a program call Bird Tracker. I really like it but it calls changes to the "normal" mutations. I keep thnking of Tweety in a cartoon when he eats a potion and grows up large enough to eat Sylveste (cat)

What mutation(s) is this?
So to shorten the name, he would be a Recesive Pied Blue Mutant 2?

1st Chick
Lin the oldest is always in a corner some where. The youngest one seams to be more out going. Bea you wont believe the colour of the oldest. Wait till this week end and I'll update the photos. ................................................................................ ............................................................................ Weekly Up Date 1st October My Webpage Eldest is now 25 days, 8 days to fledging. The 2nd Chick is now 19 Days. In the box.... Youngest with my daughter Both of them....Bea and Nerwen, what would you call the colour?? Aqua Spangle?? ................................................................................ ........................................................................... I have now added to the breeding with a new dual breeding cage I found at the local Produce store. I love it. Breeding Box High Rise. I now have three breeding pairs in the breeding cages. Bluey and Spangle with the chicks. Duey and Cinamon Huey and Greeny3 Don't worry too much, I havedesigned an Aviary / Breeding Enclosure to house the Breeding Boxes. I have sent it away to be priced. Who said keeping a few birds was cheap?

New babies
- Okay the nest Box has been on for over a week
It's a hard discision to make. I would look at geting a younger female. Quarrantine her for a month and then try to mate her with the young male. But thats what I would do.- White bread?
What about toasted white bread?- Biggest cage for one ever!
Have you thought of drilling into one end and putting a thread in. I have a number of these in the cages. I'll try and get some photos for you instead of trying to discribe it.- White bread?
Ah Lin thanks for your thoughts but :- Cage Paint
Bhups, if you are going to do it. Take the metal back all the way to clean metal. Then use a non toxic water base paint. I would use black. But before you paint, no rust can be left. Thinking of all that work, I'd get a new cage.- White bread?
A few years ago, when I had to have an Operational perseager for Cancer that was all I was allowed to have for three days. By the way.. All clear- Biggest cage for one ever!
Hi TeGz a very impressive cage. Have you thought about Gum Treet Branches for the perchs? Though I don't think shrinking it 50 pixels will hurt the effect that much. - Okay the nest Box has been on for over a week
