  1. My 6 year old daughter brought home a chick yesterday that her prep class had incubated and raised. It is a Suffolk cross Isa Brown. At the moment it is in her room and we thought it might be funny to introduce our cockatiel Charlie to chicky! Charlie preening chicky!

I would be interested to hear more too, haven't erected my Aviary yet as I thought I needed a slab?
  3. Ha :budgiedance: very good, nice caring boys, cute He is from my "pet type" budgies so he is small. A Danish pied you say splat, I think he is so pretty (if I do say so myself!).
  4. Wow they are gorgeous Splat!
  5. This little one is in with the boys but the Lutino and "it" have been getting flirty and the Lutino cock has taken to feeding it also. In the beginning I thought "it" was a he but now I'm not so sure? Above are today's pics and below are two from about a month or so ago.
  6. I love your backgrounds in the birds cages it looks great! I have a whiteface cockatiel called Elvis, they could be brothers! I also have a choccy lab named Coco, lovely pictures!
  7. I am a beginner that had the same thing happen to me and Neat suggested canary seed to help her eat and it worked and so did millet. I was lucky that in my situation I think she was just stressed from travel, new home and maybe going from Aviary to quarantine cage? Maybe yours is sick but on the offchance maybe try millet and canary seed and covering the cage a little more to keep her warm?
  8. More pics splat!! UPDATE UPDATE!
  9. Good luck MB! I haven't had my first show yet but can't wait to hear how you go. Don't forget your camera!

  14. I am having a Sunday afternoon budgie cook up and have just boiled some eggs for 20 mins. I have also grated carrotts and have sweetcorn. I am just wondering how to use the egg? Do I mash up the whole egg and add it to the other veg's in a container? Thanks, Trish.
  15. Thanks for taking the time to put them up, very interesting!
  16. Me too MB! Its kinda like the Supermodel debate of waif and then plus sized models isnt it! Lets go for it I say!
  17. The one closest is just lovely isn't it!
  18. Is it also the trend for the bigger type birds overseas? Maybe the older style needs to be sought out and preserved in a way? I would love to contribute to doing this, it would give me more purpose in my breeding, just as a personal interest. I would love to see photo's of the older type birds if anyone would care to post example pictures? I had never come accross the birds that are classed as showbirds until I came accross this forum and got into things further, I had only been involved with pet types.
  19. I love that movie, just told the kids and now I get 1.5 hours peace..woo hoo!
  20. My first daughter never did anything silly but the second now thats another story! She gave herself a Mullett!
  21. Hows things going? Haven't heard and news for a couple of days?
  22. Earnest has such pretty toys, what a lucky boy!
  23. 0.5 inch = 1.27 centimeters I too recently bought a cage that I have been told the spacing is too large for also. A shame indeed but maybe you can get your Cockatiel another friend and Betty a cage that she wont get her head stuck in? It would be a devastating find indeed to find your beloved pet had come to its demise that way. It doesnt mean that they couldnt still play together on top of their cages though I shouldn't think?
  24. I just looked up wevils on Google Image Search and that is exactly what they were. I have been freaking out and cleaning because I thought they might be tics, I have two beautiful doggies inside and thought they were in danger! Thanks so much for your reply and I will freeze seed from now on, thanks for the suggestion.
