  1. Just an update on the Chicks and photo's. I still haven't got my camera back from the repairer and this is the best I can do. Camera is only 2.2 Megapixels and almost non existant zoom! Mummy and chicks in the nestbox: CHICK 1 (11 DAYS OLD) T.C.B. Chick 2 (11 DAYS OLD) ALBINO...not sure if I should be worried about splayed legs at this age? Please feel free to comment on what you think. CHICK 3 (9 DAYS OLD) ALBINO Chick 4 (6 days old) T.C.B.
  2. Hey there GenericBlue...The wriggly little thing was hard to photograph. My good camera broke and is being repaired, I took a couple of pics yesterday on an old camera but they aren't the best here they are anyway: This is the firstborn chick born on boxing day it is a Texas Clearbody.
  3. Egg 5 has been pushed aside a few times now and I dont see any signs of life at all. I will leave it another 2 days and the remove it. I think it is dead in the shell though. All others are thriving and two are now rung!

On New Years Eve I took hubby and the kids to the fireworks in Portland and afterwards were making our way to our car when I noticed a little doggy on the run and very scared. I called ahead to my 10 y.o. daughter to "grab that dog" as it was about to run onto the road. She managed to get it and we took it home to our caravan for the night after trying the number on his tag and getting an answering service. He slept on our bed and did most of the sweet tricks that Buffy used to do, give me his paw and demanded a belly rub etc!I called the owner the next day and he was away in Torquay and couldn't come till the night time, I said I didnt mind as he reminded me of my dog that had passed away the week before. That night he came to get "Baxter" and I reluctantly handed him over. The owner thanked me and told me he had a Jack Russell at home having pups in 3 weeks and that he wanted to give me one for finding Baxter! He is selling them all but won't charge me. I think it is fate or Karma the way this has worked out! Maybe Buffy arranged this one in some weird way!!! :angel1: Below: Baxter and my daughter Caela and my brother Regan (four days younger than my daughter!).
  6. Hope this isn't..... Arghhhhh legring fell off again! I am worried as it was so hard to put on the last time I tried. Chick 1= T.C.B, born late on 25th Dec or early 26th (Trapped in shell). Chick 2= Albino, born 26th Dec. Chick 3= Albino, born 28th Dec. Chick 4= T.C.B, born 31st Dec. Egg 5= Unhatched.
  7. Chick number 4 arrived on New Years Eve a T.C.B. so now I have two of each. There is still one egg left unhatched and I have candled it but can't see any signs of movement. Will leave it there for a few days and see. The first chicks ring has fallen off three times but I think after today it will stay. I seem to have to put 3 toes forward and one back when putting the legring on instead of the usual 2 forward and two back which is very hard to do and I feel it would damage this particular chick if I was to do it this way. The breeder I got its parents from rings his this way so maybe it is better suited to this line of particular Budgies?I will post some chick pics soon, camera is charging after N.Y.E. photo's!
  8. Congratulations, they are beautiful! You and Bella deserve a big pat on the back. I assisted when my labrador Coco had 6 pups and one I had to revive, I had never done it before either and had a vet nurse on the phone for some of it to coach me through. I bet you both are exhausted but a wonderful result indeed! :bliss: :bliss: P.S. Bella is such a beautiful girl!
  9. The things we do for our birds hey! Beautiful doggies by the way!
  10. 2 hours and 20 mins from Warrnambool.
  11. Mt Gambier club was 45 mins away and Horsham 2 hours so the decision was clear. Also having Nigel Tonkin himself as a mentor, how could I lose? The chicks ring fell off but I'll try again tomorrow, I'd just hate to be too late and it didnt fit!
  12. Looks gorgeous! Happy budgies too I bet! :bluebudgie:
  13. Hi there, I just put a ring on my first chicky a T.C.B. ring I.D: SA NE -9 001 :bluebudgie: I hope it stays on, does it matter on the left or right foot, I put it on the chicks right. How exciting! Cheers, Trish.
  14. I went to go and clean daddy's cere but it has unblocked itself. I also had a peep at the babies and I have another! An Albino baby! All have full crops. Tally so far: Chick 1= T.C.B, born late on 25th Dec or early 26th (Trapped in shell). Chick 2= Albino, born 26th Dec. Chick 3= Albino, born 28th Dec.
  15. With water or should I make up a saline solution? P.S. I somehow typed "regurgitate" wrong in my previous post, my apologies as I was half asleep!
  16. OOOH the same egg torch that I got off Kaz is there! I highly reccomend it! Best tool I have to date!
  17. Maybe the food he regurgiyayes to feed his mate I was thinking?
  18. Yeah hopefully..... :28:
  19. Photo:No sneezing at all, he has looked a little messy since he has been feeding the missus so hopefully this is all it is. I would hate anything to go wrong, it has just gone so smoothly so far I expect something to go bad
  20. Its just a bit of yellow, maybe it is food? I'll try and get a photo but my camera is not great for close ups....
  21. I just checked on the pair and noticed that the T.C.B. father has a blocked cere, just his left hole. Is this a concern and what can I do? He seems well.
  22. Too cute Budgie of the month winner already!
  23. Chick number two has arrived and its an Albino as I can see the red eyes! Two on the one day...ya!!!
  24. Dark eyes, I didnt pick it up the mummy didnt want to come out or get out of the way. Seems to have a full crop too...yay!
  25. But the mum is in there 100% of the time I might make her not want to be in there?
