  8. yes its hard losing good bird but i will achieve with his chicks something to make him proud as for my faith it is in myself i know with time my bird will become what im aiming at im already happy with more than not people do have the ability to bring me down but i know this so i just tell myself as long as im never like they are im happy im not going to put birds into the young bird shields this year though as i had planed though im not sure if ill be going yet either really depends on whom is going that i do find worth spending the day their with or around i enjoy when my fellow bird breeding friends place well it brings a smile to my face that they have achieved some recognition for their efforts i have at moment but only three pairs today my first chick hatched a little albino so that raised a smile i think im going to call it a name not sure yet but it does need one as its first albino chick this year
  9. okay just need to let you all know was out looking at birds when a 3 month old hen started bopping around flight she was really chasing something so i looked close to see her chasing a small moth after around 5 mints she caught it and actually ate it so.... their you go natural protein and answer to a long questioned, question she didnt just crush it and drop it she ate it only leaving the wings
  10. well nubbly im doing my best but being very sensitive to emotions i do have to pull away some times or i find myself falling as i cant see how others can be so mean in nasty and competitive to point it consumes them as for my thread i will get back on rack soon however my personal life is in bit dismay still my son my nanna my dear friend all need me moe right now i did lose my beautiful opaline light green/lw boy today im very sad to say he left to four different hens over the just under two years ive had him one) a clutch of 6 three lw hens one passed three normal cocks all culled two)a Opaline light green hen his first chick / blue three )a light green /blue cock four ) a lacwing cock and a grey green cock his hen was on 5 eggs so i moved eggs and took nest away left her alone for a while last breeding was 100 percent gng breeding the lacewing cock n grey green so i have a good little off set of his blood to work with well i loved him so much he seemed fine to just was dead not thin no dirty bum colour vibrent he was so churpy yesterday but gone this morning
  11. i was wondering clearwing do you give this suet to birds uncooked or cooked is it solid form or jelly like ? If you cooked it,It would just melt down into Fat. sorry macka didnt see you their okay so its a solid can you tell me how long its okay to be left hanging before it is termed no good as in off can birds get sick from it if left for over certain time frame i guess im asking
  12. true nubbly 5 budgies not teils but i got top say to k n m breeding um watch whom you be so all high in mighty with you seem to know very little on budgies mutations and teils sorry i have held my mouth words for ever now however .... do not make out that you know more than you do as clearly you do not and just as you read something does not make it true maybe care to keep learning and maybe find a good source with actual true knowledge to learn from try a book named a guide to , colour, mutations and genetics in parrots by Dr Terry martin BVSc then tell me what you think about your attitude to rips knowledge on thing yes you have annoyed me to many think they know it all telling people stuff they have read rip is probably one person whom knows then double checks just incase she may be off track BEFORE STATING FACTS i actually think you need to eat pie and apologize for you out right rudeness to her
  13. thanks finnie yes they still on that exact seeds finch / budgie 50 percent each mixed small parrot by self hulled otes by self canary with extra niger n linseeds havent been able to get millet's for long time though its more the veggies im wanting to get balanced here and any additives i used or use still which right now i am not using any
  14. it is not so much the birds nubbly and im not in a rush to win what i have won now i think is actually quiet an achievement as i had no expectations of toughs birds getting so far it is more the realization that people are never really who they precept to be and i joined club to get myself out into a community of common interest with others however no ones really interested in being your friend as such just what you can do for them or what money they can make from you im lucky i have been blessed to of fallen by way of decant breeders like yourself whom honestly want to help and support other breeders but i get down hearten when i hear others being talked of and bad mouthed spesh if i know that its **** and its mainly out of jealousy some go as far as to yell things out from back of room when their birds are beaten on bench and rightfully with reason and its this type of thing that makes me want to give it in i have enough birds i have breed now off a few common family's now that if i cant breed a decant few birds then i may as well give it away however its not that its the attitude of a small few but even though not all that many its not something i want to be around its childish and disturbing that others can be so two faced due to their own lack of breeding skills and knowledge on how to improve their problem areas instead of asking advice or help just whine and bad mouth toughs who are having success sad really im not going to travel few hours to have to hear it all day at a show how that bird is this and that bird only won cause or how much did they pay the judge its bull yes i know it happens everywhere but why do you think i have been a mushroom my whole life i may just send birds with others rather than show myself if it comes to it
  15. i was wondering clearwing do you give this suet to birds uncooked or cooked is it solid form or jelly like ?
  16. hi WHAT THE .... you maybe thinking well let me explain a bit since i joined this forum i have written quiet often my feeding plan and what my birds get how often what days and i want to look back at them all and i want to compair what ive written each time here is where you come in handy if you come across a post where i have mentioned feeding and what i feed my birds i would like you to please cut and past it in here then im going to compair them all and try and see when and where my birds were healthier or worst for wear and what i was feeding at that time but i cant do this myself as im crappy at finding things why i come her and ask you guys so anything you read that says my birds get or i feed my birds this id love it if you could add it here for me not just me telling people what they can feed birds only thread posts where i state i feed my birds .... cheers gb i really want to get a balance i been a bit lost lately and so many different thoughts i want to see what i myself have said but with my memory its hard to just recall past months or what i did few years back i want to go back to that as they were at their best then here is one i found Posted 23 July 2010 - 09:35 PM mine is alot simpler the breeders get fresh English spinach or silver beet carrot cut in to a half dayly corn once week and a quarter peace orange dayly the soft food is just boiled eggs for 10 minits grated carrot and weetbix mixed and crushed together shell and all sometimes i great zicceni into it and give beetroot or grate it in to soft food at least three times a week if not more they get pidgon vitamin mineral powder in finger draw with egg n bis kit dry in finger draw and their iodine and calcium blocks and cuttle fish and shells small seashells in fingerdraw and fresh water daily also hulled otes seperate dish and small parrot mix seperate dish with one bit horse chalf mixed into it their seed is half finch half budgie breeders also give one millet per day per couple and one in box soon as chicks turn two weeks old Posted Image
  17. first welcome to the forum second i think you need to read a few threads on caring for your birds you say you are worried seed will make them fat but im worried if you are just giving a small amount that, that will cause their fighting as they are fighting over getting enough food each birds should have seed in reach day and night 24 hours not a bit here and their veggies is not their main diet seed is veggies are to supplement minerals and vitamins that the seed lacks please look in budgie care at feeding to see what you should infact be doing if you still am not sure get back to me right now its late im tied and need sleep but thought id at least welcome you and just make it clear your birds need fresh water and seed all day long regards gb
  18. also to ngo duong not close to you but can get for you birds 20.00 each young 010 rung great for pet colour breeding have a friend selling show culls at moment pm me if your interested and can drive okay that was weird my post dissapeired i had said to barny that i didnt think birds were allowed from tassie anymore if they are id like to know :} is it new zealand im thinking of maybe MMM anyone where can birds come and go from state to state country to country please
  19. yep dont give up you may just of seen her having a rest but as kaz said i too have had eggs hatch in fact i took a egg out thinking it was dead in shell two days latter when i opened all my eggs to see the stage they got to (as i do too see if was infection or breach so on it was very cold but alive and wiggling even though cold (the chick was stone cold ) i heatted with warm breath for bit fed it one fed on tooth pick (yogit) i stuck under a mum and chick lived so never say die till its actually dead same goes with chicks fallen from nest or tossed aside i warm up everything for half hour before classing it dead just last month i saved a stone cold stiff dead chick at 2 weeks had come out nest was so stiff but i warmmed it up under breath then straight n side infrount of electric heater held it for ten mins then a toe moved then a gasp i was so suprized as it is rare a stiffy comes back but people forget the birds go into a comma from cold lack of warmth then they die why when birds are unwell they respond well or better when warmth is provided good luck let us know verdict hope its happy one
  20. well things are uncontrol again it seems at Avalon house i have lost quiet a few good birds tad disappointing and sad i have treated birds for cocci and canker as the cocci was a wrong diagnosis and i scratched my head over and over all the signs were their all the things then i relized one thing that made me think canker the birds had been blotting crops just a bit but thats a sure sighn so i grabbed out a albino cock that looked under weather turbosole down gullet and next day 100 percent he was not good at all in fact he had blood when i cropped him and not through cropping needle or injury it came up out of crop so .. birds have been on a 5 day treatment of turbosole now they all on fresh water one hens still not good im crop feeding her back to health i lost her sister im not sure if im going to be able to get her fully good but ill try my darn-est im still undesided where im going show birds or pleasure birds and for now im just breeding two pair with a few foster pairs up i have some chicks come out but nothing im keeping it will all be culled exept my / lacewing chicks from my house line if im going to keep showing i need to really concentrate on my older better pairs before i lose them all i had a bout of fm and i dont keep fm chicks even if they grow flights back so a few wasted breedings their and being older birds one round is was plenty i just hope now the fm issues cleared up i did all i should and could to eradicate it these last chicks only one real mild case out of 6pairs so looks like i have done it moved the chick out straight up to its own cage with dad to keep feeding him even though hes old enough i find helps if dad keeps feeding till he decids to stop so theirs a little up date :} from me
  21. We don't live close enough to each other to do that i only suggested as you said you live an hour away and were friends in real life so.... i didnt mean run over to hold em straight away just thought when you were visiting
  22. hes a little sweet heart try carrot Julianne style (long thin cuts )
  23. good luck with it all rip ill be following
  24. its recessive gene so can easily be around spesh in a rec gen to a grey wing bird or dilute if you two are friends why dont you pop over and take pics while she holds bird near a sun beam in the house through a window while she holds bird and spreads wings out and shows tail quills also one of dad like this but still think clearwings and greywings and cinnamon in with it going by cheak patches and fact they are not dulited to the colour a true greywing would be all full body grey wings hold the clearwing genetic im pretty sure as i said i do not beed nor care to so no nothing much on them
