  2. well this is not really best to best pairing but its best of what i have suited to him as you say i have spent a long time in choosing suitable pairings its not something that i just take lightly these are my first real pairings where i have placed a lot of thought into the breeding of certain birds and Ive actually planed a head a bit with their off spring i have another light green cinnamon hen from martins breeding one i brought before he gave me the above hen i brought two but decided only one was worth while breeding for show i plan to pair her up with the same cock and to his half brother and the above hen will also be paired to his half brother this giving me 4 clutches of related by blood chicks to choose from for half brother to half sister breeding's if their quality marks the spot i believe they will also some of these chicks will be placed with chicks from this next pairing i have also thought about and paired for sutibility skyblue cinnamon hen spangled caulfield bird x skyblue /cinnamon spangle cock mp1 bird all these pics were taken today here i plan to achive some df spangles and some cinnamon chicks all will be light blue i belive
  3. okay so with my birds all on treatment im a tad board so i thought i may put up a few pics of the pairs i have planed for their recovery here is a g&g breed bird , and a mp1 bred bird i was gifted by martin paoli to help me get on my feet im quiet over the moon by his gesture these pairs were chosen and paired prior to them being found to be ill so and all nests are blocked but birds remain in pairs first of all as im trying to breed some lacewings and im trying to breed cinnamons also i decided on pairingthis pair up she is really board and she comes from good breeding martin chose her out of some hens he was keeping for his own breeding i feel very overwhelmed and believe my grey green boy has just the breeding to bring out her best as with her to bring out his best he certainly has the face for her ...and both are holding a nice stance when sitting right i belive this to be a really good choise what are your opinions out of this pair i will achive anything from below list cinnamon hens cinnamon cocks cinnamon cocks posably being split for lacewing and posably being split for opaline opaline cinnamon hens and lacewing hens of normal or posably opaline and cinnamon cocks not split to anything is this corect also im not sure what a light green and a grey green produce is it just light green and grey greens ????? this my first green to green pairing  i will pair these with an open box after vets okay ...on birds health this is one pair i must say i cant wait to see out come from
  4. I would suggest it is done with a drill and drillbit of a certain size.........................so lealotta what size is the hole ?? so a hammer and nail was not the way to go ... oh well im not allowed near power tools so

  12. i only got one rec pied cock from you darl and it was the light green split manno hen i paired him with and it was the manno pair that was brother and sister dont worry mate i got my paper work undercontrole i found this out when i went to pair the two split rec pied up so i could get some nice normals as well as mabe a rec pied chick but when i read their ring as i do with all birds before i pair them to make sure they unrelated they were numbered in consecutive to eachother so i just asumed they from same nest better safe than sorry i say it was your photo of the rec pied cock and hen that i was saying lovley birds to so all is good ren
  13. oh thank you so much the / ino spangle boy put to a big headed hen should produce some nice large inos himself remember hes split blue im more than happy to deal with you so i will keep in my book that your interested in any lacewing or ino culls i may have regards to the drinker how fast does it drip out like does it become empty fast do you have a catch tray
  14. very good point kaz i keep forgeting my cocks are abnormal and like to keep chicks warm in fact they do most the careing my pet types anyway
  15. The ANBC Show Standard requires a minimum 20% markings on wings (off the top of my head I think it can be between 20-40%) so I have concentrated over the past 2 years to breed a bird with precisely that. I saw absolutely no point in breeding splits from heavily marked birds as the hens tend to have more heavy markings anyway. No this cock is not directly related to the birds you got from me- he is longer by a couple of inches and about 1 inch wider across the shoulders and he is green series without yellow face, although he too comes from a Manno dad but paired to an Armstrong hen. Your birds mum was a yellow face cinnamon Manno hen. Glad he's doing the right thing by you. he is a nice rec mate as is she yes my boy is lovley im very happy with him a lovley birthday gift thank you the chick produced was a normal yf violet cinnamon very big suprize i must say from a light green /rec pied hen and a what i thought to be a dark green rec pied boy
  16. oh so cute i miss the babys
  17. he should be fine on his own i havent had one die but i had one excape a hen left the dad with seven chicks from one two weeks down to few days old he should be fine just keep up the food the veggies water especially freash and clean as per normal just whatch he feeds himself as well as chick mabe get some millit treats for him and place in as well as seed feed him bread also as he will eat that himself
  18. And here are another couple foundation birds for my Recessive Pied line do all rec pieds have the clear flights sorry i ask as ive only had the golden face types in pet and if im not mistaken this cock looks to be a cobalt( golden face cobalt rec pied ) as hes just like all my ones but as i said i havent really looked at a rec pied before thats not golden face even the boy from you turned out to be a goldenface violet which im over joyed with split cinnamon also hes doing fantastic in case your wondering ren the rec hen is fantastic

love the birds veiw pissa
  20. that would be very nice thank you sherbert better than spudnick i think he really does deserve a true show type hen for future but for now you would get some pretty yf lacewings and some nice cinnamons i will keep you one my show breed hens for him a grey as im sure we will see eachother again someday and id really like to see him through his potential worth for you hes only young and very timmid with the big show hens so mabe a pet hen is just what he needs to get started id love a yf lacewing pet type one day myself if any spare ever
  21. you said you were only going away for a day or to so why not wait that extra few days and put them up when your home makes more scene its just a few extra days and belive me it only takes one small thing to make a hen even crack it with her partner and try and kill him theirs that also were not trying to scare you just want you to have your birds when you come home not come home to a dead one or worse both you waited this long bit longer wont hurt
  22. well i knew what you ment but then im dislexic lol with a violet /blue and a green split blue you could get greens violets blues depending on dark factor of birds im guessing violet is visual so cobalt which is medium factor and green well depending on its dark factor depends on resulting of baby's dark factors so i will stick to colours not go into skys or cobalt's mauve's or what not as i only would be guessing this would include the possible violet green more info would have helped
  23. Hi there! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, violet factored seems to be very similar to cobalt blue. I am slightly disappointed that there's not a vibrant shade of purple in the budgie color spectrum, but it's no big deal. After all, color has nothing to do with personality (as far as I know). No, I am not at all sure Qwerty is a boy. In fact, I'm leaning toward female. I'm just trying not to waffle too much. My family got used to using male pronouns, so I don't want to correct them until I'm sure. So, do you think Qwerty's cere looks white? Don't worry about it... I often like to make jokes that only some people get. My theory is the more obscure a joke is, the more priceless it is for the people who get it. Of course, "qwerty" is pretty easy to explain. you calling me stupid its okay i know exactly what your saying vid was cute by way i forgot to mention that earlier
  24. by sounds you dont have many birds anyhow so whats to stop u getting a small cage say 16 inch by 90 and keeping babys their untill breeding age or you could do a meter by a meter square in the aviry to seperate them till older or just half the flight ps as harsh as ren sounds she means not to come across nasty shes just very blunt in her turms of wording and she is corect in saying what she did you are their carer their in your hands
  25. if she stops at seven then all should be fine and she will most likely hatch out all unless the first one in maybe not fertile which sometimes can happen due to not being practiced breeders i say do what your doing and just let them b
