Lacewing Chick
i thought their feathers were ment to grow at a rapped rate and also that the tail feathers were ment to be more than normal mmmmmmmm and here i was thinking i finally got a goodn i did feel in my gut something was wrong ...however his sisters and brothers are all long feathered as she is and they are all also very big this is whats confusing me it was possable to get a supper chick from the pairing i paired so....thats why i was uncertain but i will go with you guys on this however i will wait for a few more responces although you guys are probbly right id hate to send a good bird to god if were wrong but also i dont want to keep it alive if it is as its hungry im feeding it extra twice a day do people agree its a mop ???? thanks guys for your opinion i can get more pics if needed just let me know what to snap and i will i really want to be sure on this one before i do anything hasty

Lacewing Chick
i was thinking she is sitting very lazy though the wings look like all my other birds breed the thing that gets me is is very light and very thin is feather mass is huge but apart from that its feather develop meant is in time its beak is fine tail feathers and its quiet but when it does churp its normal and quiet loud i guess i will have to wait and see i just wish i could tell now as i will send it to god soon as i know as i rather that than it suffer ( they do suffer )

Cockatoo Hit By A Car
this is why i never take injerd birds to vets my cocky would be dead if a vet had of got him i rescued him as a small nestling covered in black oil at a petrol station its good to have some knowledge of birds animals in general so you can asses an injured one as some times its as simple as a broken wing and all thats needed is a sling to set the bone in place sure they can not fly again but they are fine was it just the wing or did it have internal bleeding or what as if it was only the wing i would not be happy with this vet clinic my vet fixed a black bird with a broken wing and it was just a black bird its wing was poping through something i cant fix next time asess the bird or take to wild life shelter a vet is a vet wild life shelter is just that for wild life their are nummbers everywhere and they send someone to pick the animal up

Mauve Or Grey?
now i really dont know yet myself so dont quote me but i read that a budgie with what they call french blue which is what gemma seemed to have is a Australian grey (im not saying she is as i also was told they are no longer )and grey were just grey i have no clue i just figure they are grey carrying cobalt but thats what mauve is so mave comes in the three shade factors of light medium and dark so...

Survey**** If You Had A Really Good Bird With Feather Cyst
i have read that it is some thing that can be a genetic linkage but really its just an ingrown feather so i fail to see the genetic disturbance of that its just as if we were to get ingrown to nails or hairs if it was something that reoccurred on a bird i probably would just cull that bird out but that is because if im going to be breeding birds i want time spent checking health of chicks and keeping flock maintained not every few months or weeks taking an hour of my time to squeeze bath and dry a bird only for it to become unwell with infection again a month or two latter however in your case splat its not really a feather cyst caused by normal circumstances id mabe pay a few dollors now and find out what your really dealing with as you dont need to pay 200.00 for that mabe 45 for check up if he says tummur then m i wouldnt breed her if he says feather cyst id keep her see how she goes if you get any chicks come up with this probblem then cull them and mabe not follow breeding her again cysts normally in older hens due to as some one said density of feather and difficulty breaking molt it is in some family's but when it is its quiet prominent and you would quickly find out i think you will find it was something that caused that not a genetic link or a tummur get your vets advice he will be back soon will he not take her in as money spent now will be money saved latter if you breed her and it is something more that affects the stud sorry im not much help am i

Eye Infection
let it fill splat see if it is yellow this time more than brown watery red just now you have got the core of the blister it should fill up again and if no change in a bout three to for days a week if its stays stable then id splice it again but how i said to using the benidine as a wash out injection before you squeeze the blood out or liquored out not leaving anything in their as that is whats causing the re swelling its like our own blood blisters unless u uncover it to raw it blisters up again you can get the stuff that our mums put on us that violet stuff its to dry out woonds you need that if you decide to cut it right off if you do you need twezers to hold the blister empty skin and a razor sharp surgical blade to gently cut around the bottom edge of blister till out off so theirs no skin covering wound it needs to be protected from infection but needs to air dry not much else you can do bar vet apart from that good luck hun is she inside id bring her in if you open it right up
-
My New Budgie~
oh yes i forgot about the fact that they would be all blue each clutch if shes mauve i was thinking if she was split blue but green you would get blues and greens lol see my brain is not working at moment of time they will have beautiful chicks regardless and i knew i was right about the normal white and the df yf white ...couldnt explan it though right now so thanks nub

Eye Infection
i cant spell it either im glad you took the chop as really you could see it was something blocking something and causing a blood blister i would have gone the slice and dice myself i usually do vets just a back up plan and ive lost no birds dealing with things myself but i do have a bit of an idea of what im doing and proper surgical blades extra and dont touch anything i dont know what needs doing unless vet says its going to die anyhow benadine is awsome stuf make sure you get it right into the wound not her eye though always needs to be watered down id cover the eye and squirt it right iside the opening of wound so it gets into the blood blister useing an eye dropper or even inject a small amount in to it next time u pop it before u squeze or relize blood out and splat give her a few days and go the squeeze let her squawk it will only hurt once get everything out but like i said inject a tad watered down ben that stuff lol into with the syringe before you squeeze it all out but do all at once does that make sence as now you got the main infection if it bloods up again you need to dry it out one last time to stop reinfection
