Some of my birds mature slower than others. I wouldnt be worried unless his growth is stunted and he does not grow at all.

Get up 5 am go to work. Check on birds before leaving Get home 3 pm. 3:30 pm 4:15 pm - feed breeding birds. Ring the chicks. Change seed and water. Add soft food or egg and biscuit or veggies (depends on the day) Check all the birds to make sure they are going well and are healthy. 4:15 - 4:30. Feed aviary birds. Same as above, give all necessary things. it takes 1 hour to do the birds each day so I think thats pretty good. Some days I may take longer, when Im rearranging the aviary or somthing. Or my weekly cleanout (that takes 3 hours) Then theirs the other animals.... Best advice given to me would be from a member of this forum. Beleive in your judgement. Only you know what is best for your birds. I agree with it.

I've had to euthanize birds before also. It is hard and it never gets easier. I just think of the bird and how better off it will be.

I will have to ask the breeder about that one. She has never had any chicks before. He bought her from an auction for big big money and she didnt breed for him. So I took a shot.

No she is a bought bird from a mate of mine. She is 5 years old and is sadly too old to breed... I tried her once and nothing happened so I put it down to age and retired her. I would of loved her chicks. Everyone comments about her, all good comments too.

thanks for the info,i wanted to do that,but just one question, what is the best and easiest way to put it out ofits misery. ive never had to do it before.its only a pet type budgie, i have only just starte breeding for show.sorry shannon i dont have any phots, i think ill just have to put it out of its misery I sent you a private message.

It has no toes or anything? just stumpy legs? I would either give it to someone who cares for injured animals or put it out of its misery. It would never be able to perch or walk or anything...

Heath how do you get your bird seed? do you buy it or make it yourself? My friend has gone away so he was unable to make some up for me this month.

Hi Today I bought some new seed. It is a 20kg bag of riverina breeders bird seed. It doesnt look as good as my previous bird seed but it looks okay.. Anyone used it before? Heres a picture. What are the little black seeds? If you know the name of each different seed in the mix please tell me.

The oats I have may not be hulled oats. I buy them from a stock shop and they are labeled hulled oats but their is a possibility they are another kind of oat.
