Do Hens Lay The Same Amount Of Eggs In Each Clutch?
oh okay I was wondering what to expect but I guess I don't expect. Lumina laid 7 eggs last time I was wondering if she would lay the same this time, she has two so far but if you add the one she laid first on the floor thats three. But she's not interested in that.

Do Hens Lay The Same Amount Of Eggs In Each Clutch?
I wasn't sure where to post this, it also may seem like a stupid question but I was curious if hens lay the same amount of eggs each time they are bred?

Lumina Laid An Egg In The Box
Well after she began acting like she wanted to breed and laid an egg on the floor. I added the box and two days later an egg was in it and is sitting. But I don't think it's fertile she's not really alowing George to mate with her why? But also if I take the cover off the cage she wont sit on the egg. Maybe she does'nt like the light shinning through the hole. So I keep them covered but I don't find it fair leaving George in the dark.

Lumina Laid An Egg
She is two years old this year in june and I was thinking of putting the egg in a nest box, as she has laid it on the floor and is sitting on it. She is in with her mate George after being seperated for a few months too recover from her last clutch. Is it to early for her to have another clutch? Her last clutch were laid in september and hatched in october last year and it was her first. I put this up just asking what to do, to be safe. Also are they to old George is two years old and she is nearly two?

Hen Egg Laying Problem Again
In that large cage there's no visable holes those are shelves that you see I put vegges on them. And I don't like the grill cages i get worried that they're going to get hurt on them, and I took the newspaper out but the tray gets really dirty because she poops and throws her water onto the floor and I can't give her the tube drinkers she does'nt know how to use them. and she is not in the large cage she's in a smaller cage.

Hen Egg Laying Problem Again
I think it's because she can see nesting boxs and somtimes she rips paper and perches up an sit in the corner. I never realised just seeing boxs could trigger it, I'm giving her egg food to get her streght up and she has idosodine blocks and 2 whole cuttle fish. should I give her any thing else? I'll get pictures of her cage later, She can also see a breeding pair they are her parents who have resently been put back in together, if that's doing anything This is the cage she can see which has two of her sisters in it the nest box on the side is blocked and the two inside don't know it's there.

Hen Egg Laying Problem Again
I've seperated her from all her siblings weeks ago probly months ago because I blamed her brother for her laying an egg but later found her sister mating! I was quite shocked, so I immediately seperated all of the siblings. She layed about three eggs while she was together with her siblings. then when I seperated them she stopped then I thought phew this is the end of that problem. And since then she's layed about 5 more but after she lays them I throw them away so am I causing it? if not what is? She seems pretty healthy other than the egg laying. The eggs she lays are strong shelled. No blood on them. You can tell she's young she still has the bars and no iris's.

4 Month Old Hen Laid An Egg Again A Week After I Took Her Brother Out
I've found out today it was Coco a cinnamon hen well what I thought was a hen but I saw her/him mate properly with Kiwi the one who's laying oall the eggs. Can two of the same sex budgies mate? but then why is she laying eggs? I know that hens can just lay eggs but she's so young I've put Kiwi in her own cage now untill I solve this.
