Bourke Parrots
Thanks... I might keep looking into building them one of their own- which was the origonal plan. before my hubby got sick. I did want to build them a big Aviary and get more but now I'm thinking of one on the smaller outdoor size. Are there any good places to look in QLD.

Bourke Parrots
I have had a pair of Bourke Parrots for about 4 months now, and I have been wondering if they could go into my Aviary with my Budgies. They are around the same size and very placid. I was just worried that the Budgies might attack them? Or would they just be okay? Thanks any help is very Welcome!!!

So Guinea Pigs?
The Guinea Pigs are doing great!!! The girls Just love them and Tuck has almost doubled in size (Male)! He's loving the Vegi Garden and The girls just keep picking stuff for them! The came along to Playgroup last week and they had the best time. I was really happy with the way all of the kids treated them and they were so kind and Gentle. All the parents have asked for babys in the Future. So I'll have no worries about homes for the little ones when the come eventually..

Lutino Or Yellow?
These have been taken with the macro mode without a flash and in the daylight. I am pretty sure she had red eyes when I bought her, but that was a long time ago- and my memory isn't that good.

Lutino Or Yellow?
Thanks all! I am not gifted in genetics at all!! Were really proud of our little momma. I've had her for a long tome and this is her first clutch. They are all still in a cage inside from when she had a sore toe- but that has healed up, and I can't bring myself to put her back in the outside Aviary just yet. I was amazed at the colours of the babys and the girls think their little angels... Very different to all the Dom Pied blue/white babys we have everywhere here at the moment..

So Guinea Pigs?
Beibei is meant to be near 4 months but they weren'y sure about Tuck- he's much younger. So I'm thinking I should start putting them together in a month or so if she is to have babys before 7 months. I don't want her to die because I waited too long... Going to do more research- as I tend to stress too much... Thanks All!!!

So Guinea Pigs?
They have 3 cages, 2 inside and one outside for play- the girls sometimes put them in together, but not for long. I do try to keep them seperated though. Tuck is a lot younger than Beibei, he is quite small. But at what age can the males reach maturity? I hear they can have a lot of problems when they breed- and as much as I am looking forward to babys in the future I am not in any rush for that to start. I'll hopefully have my hands full with baby ringnecks this spring so next year would be great for guinea pigs...

So Guinea Pigs?
Thanks all for your help!!! This is awesome. Princess Beibei is a girl and Tuck is a boy- the girls are happy... I've been busy building ramps and houses and verandah's for their inside and outside enclosures.. between the playing with them.. Allysa(4) has now even got a smallish guinea pig cage for play dates with Tuck in her room. Of cource with her own little brushes- and we've been making at least 3 trips to the vegi garden a day now just for the guinea pigs- thinking I may need to start planting more as they love their vegies... Does anyone know what to use to bath them? Princess Beibei has longish hair and I read(I've hired 6 Guinea pig books out from the library and 2 kiddy ones for the girls too) to use Anti Dandruff shampoo for them- but that seems a bit odd so I thought I'd post on here and ask advice and check on the net before trying it!! Thanks again Everyone- I seem to be spending as much time with the lil piggies as I do with my birds now.. And Penny still loves the birds even though she is too little to have one yet.. She wanted to see all the babys in the Aviary and today she got to cuddle some too!!

Zucchini
I agree with what the others have said! Also I grow my own vegies for the birds- and I have found that Silverbeet and Celery are really easy to geow just plant some seeds or seedlings in the garden or a pot and they will thrive- and my birds just love them! They love their vegies. I also feel carrot, corn, brocoli, capsicum, apple, strawberries, tomato's, peas, snow peas, beans- it just depends what I have at the time, and only small amounts and take it out after a few hourd, or at night. Hope this helps.

the females have a Y shape not males male have a little circle and a Y Beibei has a big Y and Tuck a little y and a circle.. So then she might be a she!!! YAY...

So Guinea Pigs?
Thanks- I just checked and I think they are both boys now... They weren't sure about beibei- but she definately has a Y and so I think now she is a he.. Might have to rethink the name... I'm a little dissapointed as I was looking forward to some babys in the future... But they are just so gorgeous and I am so happy my girls are enjoying them so much!!

So Guinea Pigs?
It's so cute the way they think at that age!!!

So Guinea Pigs?
So we are the happy parents of Princess BeiBei and Tuck.. Not 100% sure of the sexes as they are quite young still. But the girls are over the moon. I built an outdoor hutch for them for day time and Summer- and have an indoor cage also for night and winter as it's still pretty cold here... The girls each chose their own and decided on their own names. Penny(nearly 2) calles everything baby but changed the sound a bit to beibei which I thought was cute- and I have supplied her with some little baskets so she doesn't try to pich her up too much and 2 small hairbrushes to keep her destracted and entertained. But I am happy to say she has been great and quite caring as I was a little worried because of her age, I constantly supervise them though... The girls enjoying their new friends!! Tuck(brown) Beibei (White) Penny is in the Red Jumper with Princess BeiBei And Allysa who is Tucks mamma but has beibei in this photo too...

So Guinea Pigs?
Were not allowed to have rabbits in QLD- there banned and you can't even get a permit for them!!! I'll have a look into rats- but I've always wanted a guinea pig...

Little Toy
My birds don't seem to want to play with the balls- I didn't tie them and will try that tomorrow. They just sit on the bottom of the cage and get pooped on till I throw them out... I do use plastic rings- slinkies as toys on the side of the cage...
