Too Many Cocks
Well your spunky spangle seems interested, has spent a fair bit of time investigating the nest box in the last week or so and there are some of her feathers in there too. Our lacewing pairing doesn't seem to be doing much at this stage

Melbourne Meet Up-
I haven't really had much luck, only one taker at this stage, thinking maybe we would be best to postpone until the weather cools a little?

Brown Rice
My nana used to give it to her old one all the time, he used to siton top of his cage saying 'Flied Lice mum, flied lice mum' Maybe not the most PC thing for my nan to teach him but it was pretty funny

Seed? Yes Or No?
Um well I'm not a vet but I did work at a vet clinic and there is plenty of incentives offered to vets to sell certain brands, etc. Things like supplying staff with the product free (a strategy employed by some well known flea spot on companies), merchandise and good discounts on products if they are offered as the only choice at the clinic for that type of product. So yes it does happen, not everywhere but it does sometimes.

Help!
No the breeze outside is not good if he is sick. In the words of someones vet here (can't remember who), if the light bothers him he'll close his eyes

Help!
It will take the pressure of him regulating hisown body temp and give him a chance to recover from whatever is ailing him. Whatcolour are his poops?

Keeping Your Aviary Cool
Yeah, it's also really hard to grow plants as everything dries so quick but I've become pretty good at getting around the downfalls of the house, and it is good that we do have a nice big yard even if it is windy. On the up side, when I do wet down the aviaries, etc atleast they dry pretty quickly
-
Keeping Your Aviary Cool
Unfortunately our yard is north facing so any wind we get tends to be the hot wind The ones we had set up was tucked in the corner between the house, fence and back of the garage and was tied down all over the place but as we get wind gusts her up to 120km/hr on a bad day it didn't stand a chance. I figure I'll just be vigilent about cooling the aviaries myself this summer as last year I spent about $150 on the ones we had and they were destroyed within weeks...

Keeping Your Aviary Cool
Do you mean those picnic pergola things? We went through two last summer before coming to the conclusion that it was too windy for them at our house. We are on the very top of a hill and it's very windy here, despite having them tied down to the ground both were torn to pieces and ended up on our roof! I replace all my budgie water a few times a day in hot weather as I have had trouble getting them to drink out of bottles. Just lookedback at your photos and that's the same type we tried over our aviaries last year before giving up. We are hoping to move during this coming winter into a homeof our own so we'll build something permanent then, just got to get through the next couple of months.

What Are Your Other Hobbies/interests
Most of my hobbies are unfortunately things I can't do at themoment due to being alone with the kids, mostly now I occupy myself with the animals, lots of gardening and do a bit of drawing/painting when I have time. Things I love but which I hae trouble doing at the moment are: dancing(ballroom/latin), bushwalking, skiing(we do this with the boys every winter but I don't get to do much real skiing anymore), SES, camping.

Keeping Your Aviary Cool
Unfortunately as we rent we are limited to non permanent solutions. My aviaries are all metal and have concrete floors with lino over the top which I keep very clean(like I'm talking vacuum and mop with vinegar weekly clean) so I don't think bacteria growing inthe aviary is too much of a worry in my situtaion. I wasn't planning on leaving the fountain there all the time more something I could just put in for an hour or so to let them have a nice bath and then take it straight out again.

Keeping Your Aviary Cool
It's SOOOO hot today here too and supposed to be worse tomorrow. All my birds live outside althought the main budgie aviary is in the garage where it stays a little cooler. I just sprayed all the birds with the hose to cool them down, I am thinking about getting some small fountains which I can put into the aviaries just for a few hours each day when it's hot (or check and clean them every hour or so if necessary). I sprayed the corellas and my hen put her wings right out and fluffed her body up to get as much water on her as possible , my lorikeet Tingles is currently 'swimming' in her water bowl

Lacewing, Clearbody?
I don't think it's a lacewing as the marking look more grey than cinnamon to me. I would say it's either a fallow or clearbody and the greywing has washed the clour out even more making it quite pale. Do you know what colour it's eyes are, Red, Plum or Black? If they are plum it's a fallow, if black a clearbody. I would be surprised if it has red eyes making it lacewing but's possible my computer is changing the colour of the wing markings. I would go with opaline greywing TCB or fallow

Who Wants To Guess...
We are hoping for a girl ( but of course we wouldn't be upset either way) so hopefully it's a good sign then I must say I'm glad to hear others have felt this way so early though as I was a little worried that maybe it was a bad sign or something...

Who Wants To Guess...
It's interesting that you say this I feel much worse this time around at the same stage. With my boys I didn't even realise I was pregnant until I was what they call 6 weeks (which in reality is actually only 4 weeks since conception), I have felt preggers for atleast 1 1/2 weeks already and I'm not even due to have 'missed' for another two days and have been getting positive (but pale) tests for about a week, so theoretically that means I started to 'feel' like I was pregnant within less than a week of actually concieving!!!! God I hope it's not a sign of horrid morning sickness to come I am just waiting for that 'safe mark' of 12 weeks as before then really anything can happen, at the moment I'm really only about 4 weeks!

Who Wants To Guess...
Well at this stage it's not too bad like a dull achy feeling like my insides are turning inside out and the odd mild queasy moment if I go near a trigger. For me the trigger has always been cooking smells and most especially raw meat. With both my previous kids it got so bad I didn't eat meat at all and lived on a very bland diet of starchy foods for many months (basically salada biscuits, mashed potato and coca cola which is weird as normally I can't stand coke ) With my oldest I got by because hubby cooked for himself (I couldn't even be in the house while he did though), with my second my oldest loved vegies and we ate lots of steamed vegies but it was still tough cooking them. So my plan this time since I will be on my own most of the time is: In the next few weeks I will buy a couple of bulk packs of sausages and some chicken which I'll cook up now and cut into pieces and store in the freezer pre-cooked. That way it will be as simple as pulling the appropriate amount out and putting it on plates and microwaving it, hopefully I'll be able to cope with cooking vegies but if it seems to cause me trouble I'll do the same with some mashed potato, etc and cook mostly in the microwave to contain the smells.

Who Wants To Guess...
Thanks all I have to say though I feel cr@p so I am willing the next few months to be over quickly, especially since based on history it'sonly getting worse from here!

My Bush Budgies Breeding
The thing is that it may not even be your breeders fault. If a single bird of another colour snuck into the breeding even many generations back other colours and mutations which are recessive to normal could be carrie in hidden form for a long time before showing themselves
