Cages On Ebay
Those sorst of cages are generally simply used as a decorative item with no bird in it, but they are generally fine for finches depending on the size, they are certainly not suitable for budgies

Hysterical!
The easiest way is to just use the copy and paste image (the bottom one of the four in PB) just like normal, it gives you a clickable slide like that one

An Update On My Chick With Issues
Cool, she is a little flat footed too and it does make her wonky toe look worse than it actually is, I've been encouraging her to grip my finger with her toes in the correct alignment and she is living on a deep litter of budgie seed to not put pressure on her feet and also make her exercise them a bit more so you never know. Atleast she is at a point now that I have no concerns about her ability to survive unassisted in the aviary and even breed in the future so even if she doesn't show she'll be a great stock bird and carry on her beautiful deceased dads bloodline

An Update On My Chick With Issues
okay thanks, gives me something to go on atleast. I might try and get it just a little bit better on the bad foot. ANother question, do you find that 'flat footed' chicks tend to straighten up a bit once they are perching?

Nesting Boxes
The main thing is size, we bought some plastic ones which were supposed to be suitable for budgies only to discover that they are way too small even for a pet type to be happy in

An Update On My Chick With Issues
okay so just to clarify as long as the toes are pointing generally in the right direction does it matter if the tip of a toe is bent?

An Update On My Chick With Issues
Can I ask Kaz, what level of perfection are they looking for in the feet n the show bench? I'm just trying to predict how much better I might be able to get them and work out whether it is worth stressing her out over it or just leaving her be now.

An Update On My Chick With Issues
okay so the current status is that there has been no recurrance of her beak issues, it seems the method I used is effective in the long term so I will definately share details in a thread once the card reader is here As far as the feet go it has been good and bad, one foot looks great but the worst of the two is still a bit wonky, the main issue I have had is finding a product which will keep the splint on her foot when she is wriggling around and picking at it.

Record Keeping Program That I'm Using
I have recently bought a record keeping program for my birds which is simply called 'Bird Database' and found it quite good. It's not for those that want to predict outcomes, etc but more for those who just want to record what birds they have, where from and their progress throughout life. It is set up with a species field so if you are like me and have other birds you can record them all in one place. It has fields for photos to be added (up to 9), parents, subsequent chicks, hatching date, ID(ring no), vet vists/illnesses/treatment used the rest of the standard stuff like sex, colour, cause of death, etc plus it also has a field for sold details where you can enter who it was sold to(f it was) and how much they paidfor it, etc plus a general comments field for anything not covered. You can also put in up to three links, for example if you have a document you have written on the care of that species, etc. You can also click on a form where you can enter growth details by date so you can track the progress of growth for certain chicks and compare in the future. I have found it VERY easy to use I paid about $35 for it including postage

1 + 1 = ?
I agree with Elly except for one thing, if she is a lacewing and he is split for ino and/or cinnamon you would get cocks and hen in that colour since she is also showing these mutation Cinnamon splits are more common than you might realise, none of my birds that I put down to breed are cinnamon and out of the four chicks I've ended up with two are cinnamon!

Bahahahahaahah! -kiwifruit
An odd show by a bunch of gay New Zealanders? They just had a cooking segment with a couple of guys who do 'mince' recipes stuffing cucumbers(yes you can imagine the lines there  ) with the final line of the segment being "There's always fun in the house when there's mince in the kitchen" We have a number of VERY obviously gay friends and I just about wet myself laughing when it came on

Oh my gosh!!! I just went to upload some photos to show you and the CD isn't working I am so glad my mum wanted a copy so she uploaded them onto her computer the other day!- Young Kids And The Dentist
When I was little they used to use the happy gas, worked a treat Why not get a check up for yourself first, then the littly can watch you be examined before taking a turn in the chair, might be less daunting that way- Prince, Spangle Or Pied
DF spangle suffusion can be blotchy- How Excitement!
Luckily for us houses in that area don't move all that quickly so you never know- My Bush Budgies Breeding
Also make sure you talkto her lots and give a gentle tap on the box before you open it as she needs plenty of warning if she is flighty so that she can get out more calmly- How Excitement!
It is a gorgeous photo Kaz. We did look at the house and we still like it, needs a bit of work but nothing too scary and is certainly lieable for the time being BUT the bank didn't approve us We have been told to apply in Feb or March once my hubbies credit rating clears and we have a little more money saved, if we are lucky the house we like will still be there or another lovely one will be on the market.- She Is Crested After All!
So do I, I'm hoping for a more successful second clutch of crested babies too :hap:- My Bush Budgies Breeding
If she is in the box all the time then chances are she is sitting. Candle them in a few days and see if you can see any little viens :hap: - I'm Getting Married Tomorrow!
