New Tropical Fish Tank
DONE! A close up on one section: Still a little cloudy after me mucking with it today but that should clear. I have one more plan that someone is giving me and at some stage I want to get a bit more of the grass to fill a few gaps down the front and give it a headstart on filling it up itself. Now that it's put together I just have to wait for the groundcover plants to spread until it looks like a forest

Cookie Vs Vet
Good to hear she is a good vet The bill when you see an avian vet can be srange sometimes, some of them I think charge too much because they see themselves as specialists and therefore think that it's fine to charge more which I personally don't agree with. I treat scaly mite with vermectin spot on which I buy in a little bottle for $3. That little bottle has so far done about 60 treatments and is still half full! Canker medication is more expensive so that may account for some of the price.

I Have Decided!
Licenses for pets in schools are different. To keep one as a home pet you don't need a license BUT it is illegal to take them out of the wild, fines in the order of $20,000 from recollection

Sneaky Little Buggers!
My oldest Alex is so sneaky!! He has a spot behind the couch where you are sure to find him if he has taken something he shouldn't have (usually treat foods). I got given a box of choccies from someone I lent something to this morning and I quickly hid it in the top of my cupboard before he saw it (I thought). Well now that they are both sleeping I thought I'd treat myself to one with a cuppa BUT they were gone!!! I thought I had my eye one them the whole time but apparently he had found enough time to snaffle them and sure enough I found them squirreled away behind the seat 'for later' Little does he realise as he sleeps soundly that they are gone and I'll be hiding them much better this time!

Introducing Twilight
Normal violet cock, maybe carrying pied but that spot is tiny. It is very hard to get a true violet bird to look the correct colour in a photo

Water Bottles Vs Water Dishes
I have those Hills, I've found them to be quite good but as with the bowls they can get gunked up with husks if you don't keep an eye on them. I normally take a bucket out with me when I do my checks on the birds and tip the little bit of water out of the bowl and le it refill again. If you had them set up in place in the cage/aviary where there wern't many husks flying around they'd be fine, I've been using them in my breeding cages so they get a bit messier in them as they are smaller.

What Colour Babies Could I Get?
Can't get Mauves Elly as all babies will get no dark factor from the Sky parent and one dark factor from the mauve parent so all babies will be cobalt
-
What Colour Babies Could I Get?
Chicks will be cobalt and violet normals, about half YF and split for rec pied

New Tropical Fish Tank
I'm trying to make the focus the plants, we are just going to put some guppies and maybe a few bristlenose catfish in it. I've picked plants that should spread on their own mostly so I'm going for a little underwater garden

New Tropical Fish Tank
okay so I've been procrastinating over this but finally have some time now thatb I'm a stay at home mum so I got my act into gear and did it. The stand and hood got a sand and stain/varnish to match my other furniture and I resealed the tank. Filled it up and planted it yesterday so it's still a little cloudy, so a week or two and I'll put fish in once it's clearer. Getting a lot of reflection due to the cloudy water but here's a couple of progress pics for you

Acrobatic Budgie
Did he come out of an aviary situation? Many birds and especally those who have had more space previously exhibit this behaviour after being placed in a smaller cage

Body Statistics
How true is this! Body Statistics....... It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach. One human hair can support 3 kg. The average man's p enis is three times the length of his thumb. Human thighbones are stronger than concrete. A woman's heart beats faster than a man's. There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet. Women blink twice as often as men. The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain. Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still. If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it. Despite blinking twice as often, women reading this will be finished now. Read on - - - Read on more to come yep still more to come The men are still busy checking their thumbs

This Week
Not too bad then If worst comes to worst my parents might be willing to rent a room out cheap for that time, they are really cool parents, the type you love to have when you're a uni student (my mum just finished her PhD) and the whole top story of their house is practically vacant, they're pretty cool with animals too, they're in Glen Waverley, close to both vets. I'm in View Bank so about the same distance as templestowe but happy to make up the spare room if you need

What Age Is Too Younge Or Old?
The best age is 1-4 years for the male and female, some breeders may use a male slightly older than that if he is particularly good and in excellent health but that's about the limit
