Hello To Everyone!
He has met other bunnies and he was fine with them, he just got a little too amorous :budgiedance:, he would need to be desexed first, then he would be fine to have a friend. Birdluv your baby is lovely, I would say cashmere rather than angora, note the lack of fluff on the tips of the ears

Hello To Everyone!
How big is your boy? We considered getting afriend for Frank but he loves the dog too much :budgiedance:

Any Ideas....
I think we discussed this once a while ago, I think the concensus was that you would get one type or the other taking over the dominance. Many of the clearwings I have seen have very light grey markingson their wings so maybe you'll get cinnamon clearwings with the cinnamon only showing up on the tips of the feathers where they tend to get the grey

Hello To Everyone!
He's not super huge, we think he was crossed with a smaller breed, I haven't weighed him but he'd be 6-7kg I would guess, he is much bigger than the cat and she is about 5kg. Here he is, he free-ranges during the day and Sascha takes good care of him :budgiedance:

Hello To Everyone!
Hi is only a gentleman when he wants to be :budgiedance: Frank is a rescue bunny, my partner found him filthy on the side of the road in Frankston (a suburb of Melbourne). My three year old wanted to call him Mr Bunny and I insisted he needed a first name so he got Frank from where he was found

Hello To Everyone!
He is a New Zealand Giant X, basically a big white boofer. His name is Mr Frank Bunny and his best friend is my kelpie. I'll load some photos up and post one for you :budgiedance: We probably don't have them here then, you can't import bunnies into Australia anymore so any breeds developed overseas have to be developed seperately over here.

Hello To Everyone!
I don't think we have lion heads here, I have never heard of them. He looks lovely. I spent this morning chasing my bunny around the front yard because he decided he was bored of the backyard and made a break for it :budgiedance: I'm making (beef) stew tonight for dinner and he recieved a warning that if he didn't start behaving it would be rabbit stew

He loves how the body works, volcanoes, stars and planets, animals, etc., he gets it from me, I'm a science graduate planning to do a dip ed next year, I think it's hereditary Are you over at Werribee?

I Have A Horsey!
They're cool Chryso, what sort of price range are they?, my little boy loves anatomy (he's four ), his favorite books are all about how eyes/lungs/etc. works. He'd be over the moon for a couple of those for his b/day

My New Activity
Now that I have finished at uni I've realised I need something to do with my time So... something I have always wanted to do is be a wildlife carer. I've taken the first step on this road and I will be manning "Wildline", which is the Victorian wildlife rescue hotline, for two hours a week. Once I have done this for a while and done a few courses I will organise to be supervised by a wildlife shelter and start doing my own rescues I'm just gonna start slow for the time being as I do still have work commitments for a little while so I can't really dive in head first and I have put my name down to do a bunch of training days on rehabilitating flying foxes, rescue and transport, sustainable wildlife shelters, etc. I am also helping to design a brand new school education program which should be fantastic (my 'field' is environmental education) Should be really interesting

1 Day Old Baby
I would suggest using a small cup so that there is no way he can wiggle himself into it when you aren't looking or simply hang a damp face washer near him, then you can put it fairly close to him. When they are under their mum she keeps the air fairly hmid but under a light it is very drying.

Help! Why Did Peppy Die?
The poop build up is one indicator of a sick budgie and it shold be seen to by a vet. If treated then there is a good chance of the bird surviving. Most likely she needed a course of antibiotics. The best thing to do in this sitation is to bring the bird inside and put it in a warm place, if possible with a 20watt lamp over one corner of the cage for extra warmth.

Fighting
Also if you are worried about the rust on the other cage clean it with a wire brush to get rid of the rust and then wipe it with an edible oil to help protect from further rusting, that way you can still use the cage.

Exciting News
Congratulations! When you move in just be really nice and make friends with your neighbours, that way you can butter them up to being happy with you having your inside birds

Cuttle Fish Backbone
You could try ebaying it.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
A vet that wasn't experienced with birds might not though, especially if it is mainly around the eyes which is not somewhere that most people realise they can get it.

Anyone Using Vetafarm Products?
Have you used the handrearing prodcts? If so do you find them to be a nice smooth consistency when made up?Also what is the benefit of the Vetafarm club? Do yo product discounts, etc?

Anyone Using Vetafarm Products?
That's what I like too Derek, do you use any of the food products? I used to live in Wagga (where the complany is located) and had one of my old lories sexed by Tony ot the back of Vetafarm The Nest mate that I bought earlier today sggests using it as an ad lib supplement for putting condition onto breeding birds too. Since it is not particularly cheap of course I have mixed it half/half with dry chick crumble and put a sprinkle of seed on the top to entice them for my aviary birds. The breeding box birds will get it straight in a dish on the floor where it can be reached by young just coming out of the nest too..

Anyone Using Vetafarm Products?
Cool well Passwell's will go on the list as a potential choice then. Anyone use something else?

Anyone Using Vetafarm Products?
My lori cage is in the corner of my kitchen bench as she is out and about with us most of the time so the squirts can be a little annoying. Apparently this product is specially designed with a binding agent that makes them less watery even if they drink lots of water. Vetafarm is owned/run by an avian vet(I've met him, he's a great bloke) so atleast I know that from a health perspective they are good products. Is Passwells nice and smooth when made up, it is important that it passes through a syringe easily, I know some products are only really good for spoon feeding as they are too grainy and tend to clog syringes. Not many places around me stock Passwell's so I'd have to mail order it so I want to know the ins and outs of the products before I settle on one since I won't be able to look at it first.

Anyone Using Vetafarm Products?
Interesting Libby, I have been using Avione but I am keen to see if this decreases the squirting as it claims to, it will mean a lot ess cleaning for me What do you like about the Passwell's? I liked the fact that Vetafarm includes a probiotic and predigestive in their formula, does Passwell have that or would I need to add it as extra?

Baby Lacewing
Thanks for that resize, they are very pale but I can just see the lace markings. Was that photo taken with a flash as that might be the problem

How Often Should I Worm My Avairy Birds?
Should add the main reason I do mine monthly is that I have a dirt floor in my aviary which I feel increases their chances of getting reinfested, I would probably only do it every three months as others suggested if the floor was concrete or if I only had cage birds.

Halfsiders
The info I have seen is that it is basically the reult of two embryos fusing at a very early stage, so a halfsider is exactly two birds in one
