Wanting To Know...
I agree with what you are saying Kaz. Like I said, when I finally get around to breeding by myself I won't breed under 12 months. BUT, I don't have the right to tell someone what they can or cannot do with their pets. I can only advise them, (which you tend to do better) :fear It doesn't have to end in arguements. Infact it shouldn't. If someone doesn't accept the advice then there's no point in getting angry or frustrated. They simply have a different view point. I've seen champion breeders in the UK talk about things that I would never do. What's the point in me getting into a stoush over something that I have no power over? I listen to what they have, research it and come to my own conclusions. And even if I don't agree with them on that point next time I need help and they give me advice, I listen and research. I haven't seen anyone that hasn't yet bred a bird tell her it was okay? I agree owners must be responsible for the safety and well being of animals in their care, anyone that doesn't properly look after animals in their care should be properly penalised for it. I don't think we see enough of that. I think I must be one of the idiots who won't stop talking

I would agree with that krosp. I do think its a fun place to be. Most people here that are regulars tend to do things the same way, I just want newbies to come in here and feel free to voice their opinion even if it differs from the "norm."

If you are going away tomorrow I would say the sooner the better... Enjoy the holiday and I hope you come back to a lovely flock of very happy, healthy birds :fear- Catching The Budgie
It took me a week before I could catch my bird That said it would've been a lot quicker if I had of done it daves way. I eventually removed the food/water and perches. that made it alot easier. :fear- Approval
Hi guys, Hope you are all well, just wanted to say something about the forum. To me a forum is a place where people come together and discuss a common subject. (I know it's not the Macquarie Dictionary version but hey) When it comes to budgies, I am the first to admit that I still know very little. I know alot more than what I did when I first arrived, but in the whole scheme of things I know very little. That said, I may have a differeing opinion to you on an issue, any issue, but that doesn't mean that you can't voice your opinion to me. I don't come here just to meet other people who share a passion for budgies, I come here to relax and enjoy myself, and be involved in friendly discussions in regards to different topics. If you have a differing opinion to the status quo please voice it. Its the only way we learn new things. I may never agree with what you are saying but at least I will have the oportunity to research the topic and learn some more. And a bloke like me needs to learn alot more I promise I won't critisize you or look/talk down to you, Thanks, your favourite forum personality, JimmyBanks :fear :laughter: :laughter: :laughter:- Wedding Shoes!
Glad my misery brought a smile to someones day Yesterday I was absolutely wrecked when I got home. I figured I'd just go home and get on the forum to destress but no my wife was on the laptop watching McLeod's Daughters DVD's, but she was nice and let me on after a couple of episodes...- Wanting To Know...
Chrissy, you are the owner of these birds. you know them better than anyone on this forum. You care for them daily. If you feel uncomfortable breeding birds younger than 12 months old then don't breed with the ones you are not sure about. If you are sure, then breed with them. As I've said before in other threads, I would wait 12 months before breeding with my birds, but you don't have to prove to us that your birds are 12 months old if you aready know thy are. Don't get me wrong I'd love more pics of the birds but don't just post them to make me happy knowing that your birds are over 12 months old- Wedding Shoes!
Yesterday afternoon I finished work and went to pick up my wedding shoes for my brothers wedding in Feb. So I go to Watergardens and look there, nope they don't have any in stock, they give the highpoint store a call, thats the next closest store aparently... they have a pair and put them on hold. So over I drive... half an hour later, arrive at Highpoint navigate my way around the shops till I find the store I need and low and behold it isn't the right shoe... where else can I go... hmmm next closest to home is Melton. Give them a call, they have a size 10... double check with the girl that I am after a size 10. She measures my foot, Yep thats perfect. So I ask the Melton store to please hold it. Sure they say. Off to Melton I drive, 45 minutes later, arrive and go to the shop... biggest size 10 I've ever tried on. There's a good half an inch gap at the back. I'm not shopping any more I call the Fountain Gate shop (I live in Outer North West of Melbourne and Fountain Gate is in the Outer South East) and they have a size 9. Get them to hold it for me. Mum is picking it up today for me, don't you love mums. If the shoes don't fit I'll be a barefooted best man. :fear- Injured Forum Member
My mate is a sparky (electrician) and he cut the tendon in his ring and pinky too.. couldn't work but still figured out a way to swing a golf club- Grey Budgies
So if one was to continually breed greys to grey, would every generation get darker?- My Budgies Pair Up New
yes they can breed that's not why I was asking but okay If I came accross as if I was checking up on you sorry. I was just curious to know if you wait until they are 12 months or not. Not everyone does. It's breeders perogative in my opinion. I know of people who breed hens at 8 months, I know of some that wait until 15 months...- Wanting To Know...
Looking good Chrissy- ...and Here's Bibble
that is a very nice looking bird. Very interesting wing pattern. Is that what a Dom pied spangle looks like? - Cilla Starts Clicker Training
