Yes definately greywing in my humble opinion... as for colouring... the chicks I would say skyblue and the dad... I dont know... very diluted something :(Laughing out loud):- It's The Final Countdown
Make sure you gladwrap your boogey board before boarding the plane... wouldn't want any illigal drugs mysteriously appearing at the other end... that couldn't happen could it?? Enjoy yourself when you are over there and don't forget to come back with lots of photo's... In some parts of the world humans eat monkeys... now if you adhere to Darwins theory that would also be cannibalism... I don't see many crazy people around though.... Great thread guys Its interesting to get the different points of view...- Budgiebird Hilton .....daily Life In My Aviaries Part 3
Kaz... I really apprieciate you letting us know that your lacewings are doing well... but do you have to make us go green with envy by posting so many great pictures... Thanks.- What Should I Pair Her With?
I'm jealous!!!! Your in Florida... Thousands of miles away from the original homeland of Budgies and you have a Lutino and a Lacewing... The gods must be angry with me... I would pair them... but I'm not sure what you'd come out with... When I breed I'm going to breed out of curiosity though, not on what will create great looking birds... even though I may very well achieve that by the pairs I pick...- Help! I Don't Want My Budgies To Breed...
Good luck with the calcium. Keep us updated. I'm not experienced enough to help but Kaz and the others on here are great.- Breeding ....is This Going To Be Ok?
I think daz was just pointing out possibilities. I think the pairing should work out fine. Keep us posted. As far as everything I have read in the books, in human terms you would call line breeding a form of inbreeding and it would cause serious medical problems... ie South Australian couple on 60 minutes the other week... but with budgies, if you have the knowledge and all the necisary information, it shouldn't be a problem... Just be careful that you don't fix a fault... That said, I've only read books on it and never tried it myself... so I'm no expert- A Few Issues
welcome to the forum. I have to agree with the others. 3 clutches in 3 months will wear a hen out thats probably why she isn't sitting on them. Your other hen is to young. While many books out there will say its possible to breed earlier you usually find that these books were published along time ago. Most new books say breed after 1 y.o. . Thats both Hen and Cocks. I would take the nestboxes out.- Keeping A Budgie Warm
As long as your covering the cage with a blanket at night your not going to have any trouble... 70 deg.F doesn't sound that cold to me.. Maybe the American Budgies were bred from a weak pairing and are now genetically subordinate to Australian budgies :(Laughing out loud):- Budgie In The News
His legs do look pretty seriously splayed... hope he tries to fix them... He sounds like he cares a great deal for little Muddy though..- Building Breeding Cabinets
looking good daz.- Amira And George... Arranged Marriage/ Joint Custody
Ahh thats right I thought the George was Feathers and Amira was yours... sorry been a while since I read the whole thread... Very cute photo... hard to beleve in a few weeks time it will not resemble that picture in any way... SO cute!!- Egg Bound Question.
okay So I've been sick the last couple of days and caught up on some reading... I read something that interested me in regards to egg bound birds... It was in an old book but I got the impression from the book that the author didn't really see it as a major problem... Infact he also wrote: So I guess what I want to know, has anyone ever tried these techniques? Do they work? What do you do, if anything, before taking an egg bound hen to the vet?- Amira And George... Arranged Marriage/ Joint Custody
awww... hope the foster parents look after it. Have you bred with Amira before? if so did she neglect the chicks? I've been sick the last couple of days and have been reading budgie books in bed, a couple of the books suggested putting that info down on breeding cards... do you do that?- Breast Bone
good luck neat... hope bubbles starts putting on weight soon...- Re: What Is He?
Genetics isn't my thing... but I've gotta say those pics are great! Like I said Genetics isn't my thing so I can't help, sorry! - New Budgie Owner Questions
