I would of thought by the time you buy the right size chicken wire, and the dog crate it might be cheaper to buy material for a whole breeding cage from scratch....

I've done a bit of reading on crested udgies but I've stopped now only becuase you read from 5 different sourses and you get 5 different opinions... some say don't breed two crested budgies together as they will become deformed and others say you get the best from breeding two crested together... I'd stick on the side of caution on that one... But... that said.. I think it is awesome that you bred a couple... look forward to seeing them grow up... They look great!

I agree with melbournebudgies. the vast majority of budgies won't breed unless there is a place for them to lay their eggs... I don't forsee a problem other than the fact that budgies should be older than 1 before breeding... If your unsure of the exact age of a budgie the safe thing to do is wait a year... Good luck.

Thats what I don't get with show breeding... pin cushion heads are cute shouldn't show budgies be cute too... that said, what causes the pin cushion effect?
