    I agree... very cute
  2. hmmm... I know what my wife would say... you try pushing out an egg... I would say that a couple of clutches might be okay but a third is probably a bit much...
  3. Thats fantastic Kaz. Can't wait for the pictures!!!

I had a dream last night with a suspended avairy in it!!! Thats freaky... I thought about that... but she would have to put something on the legs to stop the snakes from climbing wouldn't she??

haha! sorry bout that... but really I dunno...
  7. yep! ahh well.. I really do have to get off here... I've been on to long I keep looking at the View new posts and there are only like 4 posts... addiction is a killer!

Oh thats just great!!! Tell us all about them and then don't show any pics!!! preposterous!!! Is that even a word? any who... sorry to hear about the infertile troubles as well as the deaths.... hopefully next time round you'll have better percentage rates...
  10. okay... I know Kaz posted it somewhere and I have been trying to find it but I can't ahh well I thought it was state but just confirming.. I didn't get the FAQ section topic... I was looking at it going... hmmmm... but I know KAZ drew a proper drawing which I understood perfectly... must keep looking... I apoligise to the writer of the FAQ section on club rings... I have since taken another look and I am now happy to say... It is clear I'm just stupid! 06 (year) 249 chick number bcv club or state... NBC breeder code...
  11. Would BCV on a club ring stand for Budgerigar Council of Victoria or the actual club that the bird is registered?? I'm just trying to figure out which club my birds are from... should've probably asked the guy I bought them from... I'm so stupid sometimes... Thanks in advance!
  12. I would be checking to see how many of Molly's eggs are fertile... How high was the perch that she laid from?? Even if it was fertile and it didn't break, the knock could still have damaged the chick inside (if it is fertile) I'd probably agree with neat. I personally would get rid of the egg and close up the nest box so that she didn't think about nesting yet... give her a while until she was completely settled... Its really difficult to say how many eggs you can fostor to one chick... one might strugle with 2 chicks the other might struggle with 6... each hen is different... Has Molly ever been a parent for you? and How old are your birds??
  13. you may also find that it darkens up after the first moult and becomes more like the one on the right...
  14. I'll give the guy a call tomorrow and see what he's on about. I'm not really interested if they arn't really bush budgies but yeah that wouldn't be a bad option if he is legit... I just don't want to help out no poachers. I think there is an honest way to get this and it might be a bit more pricey and a bit more time consuming but if I can do my bit for the humble wild budgerigar then I will
  15. Thats exactly my point... If I'm going to get bush budgies I want them to be genuine bush budgies... I think alot of people have done the whole breed smaller ting so that they can tap into this market, which I think is a genuine market but a bunch of good honest people wanting to do the right thing by the wild budgerigar are getting stung... Its great to think that you are helping keep a species alive but the truth is some of the 'bush budgies' are just small pet types...
  16. Thanks Kaz. 02 thats Sydney yeah? wonder if he ships... will have to give him a call... I did find this: http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/biodivers...mits/index.html
  17. yeah I spoke to a couple of places today, only one really seemed to know what he was talking about... he said he got them from a guy that works for the Department of Sustainability and Environment of Vic (DSE) but was looking at getting a guy from Adelaide who has a trapping licence through the DSE of South Australia... judging from the information I recieved from the DSE today I would say the guy in victoria is doing it on the down low so to speak... Wouldn't mind contacting the DCE(SA) and seeing if I could get a contact through there...
  18. hmmm sorry couldn't say... I'm sure the others will have some advice!
  19. Congrats guys!! (that includes girls)
  20. I am sure that we get some but I imagine that its abit less than the people in the country... thats what I was trying to say.
  21. Look forward to seeing the pics!! I'm sure they are very cute...
  22. blue series i would guess
  23. Thanks AV. Surprise Surprise the Government Department got back to me and confirmed that no one in Victoria has a legal right to trap wild budgerigar. I've been to some pet shops and I've seen very small budgerigars for sale. I went to one at the Vic Market today and they said they hadn't heard of bush budgies yet one of theres looked not much larger than a canary... if it was bigger at all. I think it is a great idea to keep the stocks high of the original but I'd prefer it legal, that way the person selling you could show a licence or something and the number of wild budgies being sold could be capped... do you think I am supporting illegal activity buy purchasing a pair of these 'bush budgies'?
  24. Thanks for the help guys, apprieciate it!
  25. Good luck with it all Neat. I must say I do like the fact that living in the 'burbs I don't get snakes as much... I guess it is still a possibility but I don't really have a major worry.
