  1. I'm pretty sure it's 'Eastern Suburbs'... thats if my memory is good. I know some people don't update there 'My Club' section it is outrageous!!!!
  2. Yeah they do... amazing really! Who'd a thought... I just thought Neville and the others were rich or something!!! nah just wasn't sure how much time I would have to get on... My wife is Samoan so when they put on funeral's and stuff it tends to be a fairly big event... not alot of time for anything else and you can have visitors coming for the next week or so... Its great to experience but it can also be very tiring...
  3. The trip is coming along well.. Had the family service yesterday and the funeral was today. Would've been good to get back in time to see him alive but unfortunately that wasn't meant to be... As of tomorrow I get to go sight seeing. Auckland here I come... might pop down to Rotarua and Hamilton later this week..
  4. looks good. very well fed I believe the politically correct term is.. not fat
  5. I think Kaz has decided that it is a boy...
  6. yeah, I'm not really bothered... Like I said at the beginning I wasn't planning on breeding them together but I guess that makes it definite Yay!!! I get to buy more birds when I get home!!!
  7. joining a club doesn't mean you HAVE to breed. I don't believe they have rules about how many budgies you need to breed/own before you join them... you just might find the meetings boring :hap:
  8. Glad you found the information you needed. Good luck with the future breeding. I hope you find a place for ino's in your breeding somewhere... it would be a great addition!
  9. I saw your comment but then JB said something about horomonal imbalance about it but you know you are right if you breed these 2 Neville you get NOTHING :hap: I didn't say anything about hormonal imbalance that was Sunnie... but... that is interesting, the breeder I got them from said Lip was a cock, and len was a hen. Then I got them brought them home and took some photo's, someone told me Lip was a hen and Len was a cock... that surprised me but I agree with the cere comment Lip does have alot of white on her cere... and now I've been told they are both females... maybe I should attach a nest box just to find out once and for all... haha... although I haven't known Neville to be wrong...
  10. Wow things are coming along at your place. She might only lay 3... How can you see a heartbeat through the egg?? That is amazing!
  11. I really have to learn about the TCB gene... I have known this breeder for my whole life and never knew that he bred budgies, it wasn't until I starting going on and on about budgies that another friend told me that this guy bred them... Its amazing what a wide variety of people breed our feathered friends... I'm going to be up north next year I might have to pop in and get some of the babies... lol.
  12. Just on Len, I read that ino's can be masking spangle and things like that so I'm wondering is it possible for Lacewings to be masking as well? I guess they wouldn't mask because of the cinamon markings... just thinking out loud here people...
  13. Haha Don't worry Hills, I do the same as you and make comments like that. You see with all these experts around someone has to be the forum clown might as well be us. I have no idea about gene's I try and look smart but never seem to get it right..
  14. Got a friend who has just put down a few pairs... Anyone got any idea's what the outcomes should be???
  15. Is Thor YF or has he been eating vegies?? Neville is an expert on genetics. He amazes me with his knowledge. Nothing seems to stump him. Like he said, some breeders don't like breeding ino to ino because they tend to be smaller birds. I'm not sure how Creamino's work but I'm guessing if paired with a blue they would produce more yf's... The thing I love about breeding research is that the possibilities are endless. I look forward to seeing your breeding journey take shape!
  16. The best part about this trip is going to be coming back and seeing photo's!!!
  17. me either Jodie but you learn something new every day...
  18. Can't wait to see! Lots of Exciting baby pictures for when I get back!!!
  19. Wow A marathon? good job... anyone want to confirm Neat's thoughts? lol
  20. okay. So I'm not going to breed them this year but next year I would like to start breeding... I'm thinking of pairing Lip and Len up with 2 other birds (that I haven't met yet) but... if all else fails, they arn't related so it is a future possibility... + = ??? Look forward to seeing the answers when I return!!! Maybe I can find some nice looking Budgies while I'm in NZ lol...
  21. To be honest it isn't a bad thing. there are some birds that start off with red eyes and later they go more dark they are known as (plum eyes) and then there are those that stay red (red eyes). By cutting those out you are not allowing certain colours to come through... like cinamon, albino, lutino, lacewing, fallow... It isn't considered a birth defect with budgies... at least I've never heard of it used in that way... I look forward to seeing your flock grow through your responsible breeding. It sounds like you have thought about it. Good on you!
  22. Great thread Hills. Rememberance is very important.
  23. Yes, I don't know how I missed this update... Angelica is gorgeous... is it normal for the yf to go through onto the wings like that??? (I'm guessing its the yf that does that I'm no good at genetics)
  24. Thats great news MB! The next generation of crested budgies in your flock
