  4. I know you guys already do heaps, but have you thought of Creating a Facebook group that is linked to this page? Might be a new way to get new members onboard.
  5. Yeah I would say so... they did alright though... 1940 till now, thats over 70 years... not quite as remarkable as the cain toad or Pigeon but still a valiant effort I think
  6. Apparently there were a number of varieties that were released over time. I read somewhere that early on their were reports of different colours amongst the flocks. They were first noticed around the 1940's and grew to about 20,000 in the 1970's. I would say that the other mutations were killed off by predators and so now they only have Green's. They think the numbers now are quite low. Some reports say that there is likely to be less than 100 birds in the wild now...
  7. I've been reading up on some wild budgies in Florida that were released in the past. Apparently when they were first released you could see a number of different varieties but over time the other mutations have died down and now all the birds are green. I think their numbers are dwindling but some people have set up nest boxes and the like and are trying to assist in them remaining a part of the Florida Landscape...   11. Hope you find some birds you are looking for wayno. Just out of interest, are you wanting people that you can come and pick up the birds from or are you willing to have the birds sent to you?
  12. The company that sent me a brochure has a website, www.derwenttraders.com.au Like I said, I haven't used them but I'm pretty sure they were cheaper then $300...
  13. Lets hope the snake takes care of your mice problem instead of the birds... Have you seen those things you stick in the ground that are meant to scare off snakes? Dunno if they work but got a brochure in the billbox the other day advertising them.

  20. Actually saw the bird in a pet shop and thought it was a little to nice to be in a pet shop lol!!!
  21. Some people also use the Budgerigar Program... or another Bird Breeding program so all the records are on the Computer...
