No mine have green on the ends of their wings i will go and take some pics and hope they turn out a bi better than last time i cant seem to get my photos to work they are either too dark or too bright??any tips?

i have taken photos but the colours dont show up. I will wait a few days for the colour to be stronger. I think if anything they will be like the dad and be yf green and purple because i think i can see some blue or purple coming through on ones legs?They are around 2 weeks old.

REALLY???????????? I have had these two in cabinets for around 8 weeks so they are definantly the parents??? They are showing yellow face but the wings had hints of yellow on them which have now turned to a green it is not that visible yet so when it comes out stronger i will put up some pictures up. That is really weird though because they are definantly the parents and the babies are really showing signs of being green is there any other posability?

Hi there i have these few birds and i dont really know there ages can anyone help me out??I love this photo it looks like the cock is checking her out! I know this one is fairly old but im not sure of what the colour mutation would be called? it is yf opaline but what would you say about the purple belly? this guy is the same he has a yellow face green chest blue middle and purple belly and he has speckles of purple through his green chest? Sorry guys i edited it twice in photobucket it just doesnt want to shrink???? Can anyone fix it for me please?

I did the total swap with one of my birds the other day. It was so messy there was no cleaning it, there was poo on the walls and everything! Whenn i checked on her half an hour later she had smashed 3 of her eggs i am glad there werent any babies in there that would have been horrible! So i would just stick with wood shavings once they are dirty do a changeover of the shavings only and you will be fine.

Thanks for giving me some hope norm! I have never seen a bird like this? I wil find a nice healthy bird for him to 'help' the process! Should i move the perches closer together or put more in to help him balance do you think?

I read up about them and it says they are sex linked so its the same as inos so the hen cannot be split for tcb she can only be visual so out of the first clutch where you got gypsy margoo is split and the hen is normal and from gypsys clutch you got the visual tcbs because prince is split aswell. Because if he was normal paired to gypsy (TCB) all you would get would be split cocks so he has to be split for you to have got your visual tcbs. Does that make sense?

OH BUGGER!! I had high hopes for his babies! Oh well i might give him another go after he has a little break if nothing happens i will put him back in the avairy and have to make some adjustments to it.

So have you had any luck with breeding these birds in cabinets? When he was in the cabinet he could sit on the perch fine but just didnt seem interested so should i move the perches closer together or something?

Another outcome question - If you look at the photo above of the cabinet there is a grey and a green/violet bird in there. Does anyone have any guesses of what their babies will look like?

She is my best breeder out of all my birds so far every egg is always fertile.While we are on the ino subject i am just wondering how you get creaminos i have a female what would i put to her to get more? At the moment she is with a recessive pied green series.

I had him in a cabinet for around 5 weeks and he did not seem interested at all in the hen so i put him in the flight aviary hopefully when i put him back in the cabinet in about 2 weeks with a new hen he will get into it more? So if he is a violet what should i pair him with to get some true violets? Do you think i would need to pluck him or is it just the hen you do that to?

I don't have a photo of him, but he is a skyblue normal with a white head. Its not the colour I need to see, but his type....build, physique, features etc. A photo will really help Will try for a photo this weekend. It depends on what you are after. I personally would put him to the mauve because you would possibly get more mauves and violets. It depends on what colour you are after i think they all look beautiful and are very filled out birds so you will get the good size with whichever one you put him to.Goodluck
