Budgie Sleeping With Its Head Turning Back
Thanks to everyone. I have seen this happening with most of the budgies, but only once in a while and not all the time. So I was under impression that this could be some sort of sign for illness. Some time back I have discussed this with one of the local breeder and as per him this is sign of fever or cold. So just wanted to make sure that this behaviour is not related to any illness.

Anatomy Of A Budgie
First thanks for all of your responses. To be frank I was feeling little embarrassed and guilty conscious since last two days after my previous post regarding followup, I was thinking that you people might have taken it in other way, so only no one was responding and I shouldn't have done this in the first place. But now after seeing all of your such wonderful and encouraging responses, now I am feeling very much relieved. I am really thankful to god for showing me such a wonderful forum with full of excellent and great people. My intension was that this excellent forum no doubt is already having very good collection of most of the required articles in FAQ section, but I felt that may be very few articles (say 1 or 2) were missing which might be very helpful for all the new members or beginners like me, for which I was really struggling to find one on the net. So addition of these missing articles to our FAQ section will finally make all the necessary articles to be available at one place. At any point of time if you people feel that I could be helpful in some way, please feel free to let me know and I will be very much happy to do. Once again I am really thankful for all your time and assistance.

Purpose Of Charcoal In Cage
Thanks Daz. How do we prepare our own mineral supplements, since here in my place I don't find one readily available in the stores. Also is it sufficient to clean charcoal piece with the tap water before placing it in the cage?

Anatomy Of A Budgie
Any ideas when we can expect to see one in our FAQ section, since my worry is that even this time we may miss this out like earlier. So thought of following up and will keep following on this. If some one directs me, then probably I can privately be in touch with the concerned person. Moderators please feel free to let me know if I could be helpful in some way or the other in preparing this. Congrats Libby, Maesie and Birdluv and happy to see you all as Global Moderators.

Purpose Of Charcoal In Cage
Thanks to everyone. So far I never heard of this. Okay can we place a charcol piece inside the cage like cuttlebone, so that when ever if at all a Budgie requires it will have it or we have to powder and mix a small portion in the seedmix or mineral block? I am interested to know more on, how do we prepare our own mineral supplements like what all things we need to mix and on what proportions.

Purpose Of Charcoal In Cage
In one of the article's, I have come across stating that we should place charcoal in the cage, but not very sure or remembering where I have read this. It will be greatful if some one can provide me with the exact purpose of this. Thanks, Karthik

How Many Times A Day?
Thanks Daz, need some more info. So it should be around 16:00 or 17:00 hrs and some where read that we should clean the all left out fresh food within 4 hrs, is this true? Any specific aloe vera type you recommened, if so picture of the same will be helpful. How we have to serve this, it produces some gel sort of liquid right. Whether everyday we have to serve as salad consisting of few veggies and fruits or one type of veggie/fruit? Also whether we can serve following: Greens - amaranth, cabbage leaf, cauliflower leaf, coriander leaf, mint, raddish leaf and curry leaves Vegetables - onion, tomato, beetroot, raddish, ginger and cucumber Fruits - grapes, guava, bannana and sapota I am interested to know more to hear from you about what type of home made soft food is goot and hope this protein rich food need to be served in the morning.

Anatomy Of A Budgie
Thanks for your responses. Regarding pictures of my birds, I don't have a digital camera and also I have my birds in my home town, where my father is taking care of them. I am forced to leave my birds due to my work nature and also where presently living no one is there to care of them when away to work. Really miss them and frequently keep calling to know about them. Will try to get you guys few snaps of them. I have couple of few more ideas for FAQ sections and will try to take it up one by one.

Anatomy Of A Budgie
Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and feeling very very happy to come across such a wonderful forum with full wealth of information on Budgie. Also to have such a huge number of very helpful and experienced bird owners/breeders at one place. Good that atleast now I am part of this Budgie family and will all keep going together. Okay coming to the actual topic "Anatomy of Budgie", I feel everyone should atleast know about various external parts of a Budgie. I was seriously looking for one on the net and finally after lot of search I found the below useful url: http://www.birds-online.de/gesundheit/gesa...anatomie_en.htm I have checked in the FAQ section and unable to find one, so thought of sharing with everyone. Probably we should also have to add similar one to FAQ section with small description of each part or atleast pictorial representation of the same. Looks like above page is protected by the copyright law. Thanks for your time and reading my lengthy post.

How Many Times A Day?
Hi All, New member just joined and have the following followup questions on this topic: 1) What is the best preferred time to serve fresh food (vegetables and greens), whether morning or evening? 2) Whether all the vegetables and greens can be served raw or we need to cook before serving? 3) What all vegetables, greens and fruits that can be served 4) Also when we serve fresh foods, whether we should also serve seed mix together or only one at a time, since I have seen when we have both fresh food and seed mix, my birds usually prefer seeds over fresh food. 5) Is it necessary that everyday birds feed should have smashed hard boiled egg with egg shell along with fresh food and seed mix or once in a week is okay, what is the best recommended for all type of birds (i.e. young, breeding and hens feeding babies) Thanks for your time and awaiting to see all of your responses.
