Thanks everybody for your replies, that is really good to hear I didn't realise the title Coco's Poops, how funny - sorry for those who love Coco Pops Elly, he only started to eat veggies last week. It has taken 8 months of throwing them away, but he has finally come around to eating carrots, broccoli and spinach. I have noticed today that his poops are looking so much better, lots darker so perhaps the veggies are improving them.

Cheers Neat No I didn't make the swing, I wish I could say that I did though. I bought it online from parrot rescue centre (www.parrotrescuecentre.com). They only charge something like $8 for delivery for as much as you want, and they have a lot of natural products. Coco was in a cage the same but it was 24 inches and this one is 30 inches and it had the same door, so I am kind of used to it. I just keep it pegged up when I am home, but it would be much easier if it opened like a normal door. I would love to see a picture of how you modified it, very creative Well, I only have Coco at the moment, and in spring I will be getting a baby from Liv and I wasn't sure if later down the track I would want another. I have never really thought about how one would be left out, good point. I will stick to two then. Thank you, Tiki is a cute name Thanks, yes he is very happy, always bobbing away :wine Thanks Andrew, yes it would be nice to see some new photos of Bing, I am sure he is looking great. I am thinking about taking the perch out for a while so he can be yellow for a while :wine Cheers Elly

Hello Well, Coco is now about 8 months old, he didn't start his first moult until mid May, and he is looking mighty fine now, well I think so anyway He is also sporting a new cage Do you think that I could fit three budgies in there? Here are some new pictures of my gorgeous boy. He is so adventurous now. During the past couple of weeks he has finally taken to eating his veggies, coming out of his cage, and took his first proper bath last night.

Hello everybody I have been concerned about Coco's droppings for a while now. When I bought him in January, and for the next couple of months they were very dark green, normal looking perfect little round poops. They now look like this most of the time: Fresh His night time collection from last night I saw an avian vet a couple of weeks ago, who didn't really seem bothered by them. I took these pictures this morning. Last night I fed Coco fresh spinach for the first time because in the past week has finally decided to eat vegetables, and his poops this afternoon are much darker than the olive colour in these pictures, do you think this is from the spinach? I would really appreciate peoples opinions about whether these are normal or not. Thank you

That's great Liv. My boyfriend keeps bugging me to get one, but I also find it hard to find one that will fit. Off to spotlight I go on the weekend!

Haha, yes that is my time saving tip - only do the dishes when you run out of something That and train up a man to do half of the work...or a monkey, it may learn faster

What a great topic, I thought I was the only one how seemed to end up with husks in her nose and mouth and eyes I have ended up just using a teaspoon to scoop out the top ones. But now I have many great ideas

Thanks everybody for your replies . He didn't appear to be careless, and I have no reason to doubt him, I had just never heard of it being given orally and wanted to make sure that it is okay. Do you think I need to get the second treatment? As for the poops, I made sure that he knew I was concerned about them, but he didn't seem interested in doing a test or anything and I felt silly for pushing something that a qualified Avian vet didn't think there was a problem with.
  12. Howdy I need some opinions please! Coco (my 8 1/2 month old boy) had early signs of scaly face showing so I treated using a parafin oil/benzone solution that I bought from a pet store. After I got back from Tassie, it was looking worse rather than better, so last Friday we took him to an Avian Vet. The Avian Vet treated him with Ivermectin to the beak. He gave Coco two drops and said to come back in 7-10 days for a second treatment. I have never heard of this being given to the beak, and before I take him back (bearing in mind that the first visit cost me $65.00) I wanted to check if this is okay to do? His droppings for a while now have also been quite light, then go dark and are always changing, although his diet stays reasonably the same. The Vet was not fussed about it, and said to only be concerned if they are long and skinny. Does this seem right? I thought that they were meant to be dark green/black. The Avian vet I went to was highly recommended by somebody on this forum, but I came out a little confused! Is what he is doing/saying seem right?

I didn't buy anything, but it was a lot of fun. I feel in love with a clearwing violet I had never seen violets before in real life, they are absolutely beautiful I can't stop thinking about him..... It was really exciting watching the bids go up, especially for the few that went above $500. I can't wait to see Sunnie, Lucy and Liv's pictures.

  17. Tam replied to Elly's post in a topic in Competitions
Yes! When I was five, I was in hospital for a week. Do you like scary movies?
  18. Tam replied to Elly's post in a topic in Competitions
Yes when I was younger...I don't know if I could do it now. Have you ever ate something that is past its used by date and you knew that it was expired before you ate it?

Go fish (that question remided me of Seinfeld) Do you watch the Simpsons?

What a lovely storey Funny how seemingly mismatched pair worked out so well
  24. I recently went to a candle party (yes there is such a thing). They told us that the black that you get on your roof and walls when you burn candles is actually petrol I didn't know this, and was quite shocked, I had never really thought about where the black comes from to be honest. And to think that we breathe that in. I know quite a few people that get headaches from candles, perhaps it is the nasty ingredients?
