we do not have snow where i am so you go camping anytime but it is cold in winter, we just take lots of blankets and wear beanies and jackets. it is nice when it is cold to sit around the campfire and toast marshmallows,drinking hot chocolate.the kangaroo was reaching up to get the food my son had in his hand.

i would say he is a cute little boy.

i love all my quails but Sapphire is my favourite.

i decided to add some pictures of nsw, i live in the Hunter Valley so a 1/2 hour drive and i am at the beach and a hour drive in the opposite direction and i am in the mountains and rainforests which is where my husband goes camping with my eldest son. Barrington tops,when my husband and son went camping last winter Boiling the billy Hunter lookout, at the top of barrington Stockton Beach, which is great for a 4wd Miles and miles of sand Kangaroo at a animal park there my place. lorikeets visiting my place parrots visit as well i hope you enjoy my tour of my part of nsw that i live.

thanks Elly,i finally found my manual for my camera and found where the macro setting is and i took a photo of one of my budgies faces and it is so clear. Yeah, now i can take some nice clear photos.

i am going to have to check out the website, my husband brought our digital camera at one of the duty shops at a airport and i have never been able to work out how to get a good close up so hopefully i will be able to learn how to use our camera by checking at "easy photography"

congrats on your new budgies, i hope they settle in well for you. i have a cage the same size as yours with my 2 tame budgies in it and they love all the space to play. cant wait to see some photos

hi Enna, i have been following your progress but on your website, i love looking at the pics that you add to your daily info. i hope your eggs are not infertile.Lilly looks like so comfortable sitting in her nest and looks like she would be a good mother.

it sounds like you will be very busy this weekend.i have had mice in my avairy so i have traps set all the time behind the avairy. they are a real pain and for something so little they can make a awful stink.

mine in the house are both males and one plays and one does not. in the aviary the young female and males both play, i watch my birds in the aviary alot. it is next to my kids cubby house and during the day me and my kids will still on the verandah of the cubby house just watching the budgies, i know it sounds weird.

i wonder if it has something to do with the age of a budgie.Tweety used to play with his bell and hang in all silly positions from the top of his cage but now he is 18 months old he seems to have stopped playing with his toys and Runt who is 4 months old plays with his bell and hangs upside down from the swing.Tweety stopped playing before i put Runt in his cage.in my avairy i have 10 budgies , the 6 older ones sit up on the perches all day but the 4 budgies i have that are 6 months old and younger play on the floor alot with the twigs, leaves and feathers.

i have never weighed my birds because i only have 12 i catch them a couple of times a week and check them so i usually know by feeling them if there has been any changes in them.he does go to the floor alot to eat the seed that has been spilt and beacuse he cannot fly well because of a sore wing he has to climb up the wire to get back to his perch so he is been alot more active than he used to be.he does not have a pooey bottom and is always sitting with the other birds and chatting with them and cleaning himself so he seems to be okay in himself.

jack loves eating and use to spend all day sitting in the food dish so i moved the food away from his favourite perch so he would have to move to get to his food.he is a lazy bird. he is still eating but not as much as before. have i done the wrong thing, the vet said that i had to make him exercise to get rid of his excess weight and then the cysts would improve.

it looks like they are really enjoying it.

last month i ask questions about Jack who had injured his wing and had fatty cysts. his wing is improving but slowly,he can fly short distance but gets around the aviary by climbing on the wire which has been good for him because he is loosing weight and his cysts are getting smaller.the cysts are under the skin in his chest so i have noticed that his chest does not look as swollen.he is going through a molt that is why he looks scruffy.
