i have the same toys as NickNack and i have a spare seed container in the cage so i put a ball in it.Runt spends ages playing with the ball, trying to get it out of the container and then putting it back in.

that is wonderful news, it is great when your budgie starts interacting with you.

Sorry to hear that Amira and George cannot work out how to be parents, hope the chick makes it with the foster parents.

My new babies arrived safe and sound yesterday and they are so cute. i want to say a big Thank You to Dave and post some pics to show they survived there first night and are very happy. They are not stressed at all by the move, they are eating and very chatting and active. The 2 pied males i called Laurel and Hardy and the 2 female cinnamon wings i have called Laverne and Shirley.

that is funny, the pet shop i go to has a macaw that talks and laughs but it is very loud and my kids do not like him.

That is great to hear that Merlin is getting better, it would be nice to see a video. My birds Tweety and Runt talk to each other heaps but still jumble their words together,how can you teach them to speak clearer or is that something they work out themselves. They still stop talking when i get the camera out.

i am in the process of building my breeding room and cabinets to breed my pet type budgies, i used to colony breed and only had 3 pairs and still had fighting and had to keep buying new females so i am changing to cabinets but they will still be pet types i will breed.

i am in the hunter valley area in nsw and it is starting to get cold here at night so i have noticed the budgies in the aviary are all moulting but my inside budgies have just finished moulting.

i have a soil floor aviary because i prefer my avairy to look natural so i have put plastic garden edging around the outside of the aviary and dug a few inches into the ground and left some above ground so the mice have to dig down a long way to get under it.The wire on my aviary has holes too small for mice to get through.

sorry to hear you have problems with your hen, i hope you can find a avian vet that does housecalls.
