  1. Totally agree!!! :tut_tut: 'Look at MOI' just doesn't sound the same...
  2. Awwww, Jenene! What a sweetie. Keep them coming
  3. How exciting for you MB  Congratulations!!!
  4. They are looking good. No hands??? . You can do it mate... Just remember to wash your hands before and after with warm water (then your hands will be nice and warm for the chicks)

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry for another loss. I hope you get some answers and no one else gets sick or worse. Biggest hugs xoxo
  6. Yah Neat!!! I'm so very glad he is home and on the mend.

Joey is a sweetie, and that Aviary looks very nice too. You must be getting some collection there MB!!!
  8. Don't be scared mate...you wont hurt them. If you have someone else to take a photo... I'd like to see the next ones of the chicks in YOUR HANDS . When I pick them up I put one hand in the side of the next box and use the other hand to gently grab them and place on my other hand. I then gently check them over. Handling them at a young age will help in taming later.

I agree with the others... and good luck with your move. Once my pairs have breed, they usually get a rest away from the aviary, and then go back with their friends. In my experience, I have found that the strongly paired couple stay together. Good luck
  10. Every budgie is different... regardless of where you got it from. You just have to take it slowly and keep at it. Great news about your little guy. I sometimes use millet when I'm training them. They start to see you and your hand as a good thing as they get food. Good luck and please keep us updated.
  11. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more... you always know where I am if you need moi :hap:
  12. Oh... the poor little guy. I hope he rights himself. Hugs mate xo
  13. I'm glad the new bub is going well, and I am so sorry for your loss. I too have lost bubs that hatched too early, or that Mum 'tried' to hatch to early. I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason, so perhaps something was wrong, and it just wasn't meant to be. Hugs mate xoxo
  14. Oh mate xoxo Biggest hugs to you, your husband and your extended family. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. :hap:
  15. Congratulations Jodie :party0011: Looking good! Don't be scared to pick up the chicks. You can handle them from day one to check everything is okay. They are very robust little things.
  16.
  17. Awww, what a cute photo. I love it when they sit all together like that!
  18. Oh LIV.... Poor little guy, but good pick up and hopefully fix by you! :budgiedance:
  19. A question???? If you do what you have suggested above, and then enroll him the following year, because of his age, wouldn't you have to enroll him in grade one??? Not prep? AND wouldn't this kind of defeat the purpose. Holding him back because he is not ready for school, but then when you send him, unless you have been able to teach him everything that get taught in their first year of school, then he will still be behind???? I'm not having a go at the idea, just trying to get my head around it
  20. Oh mate . I have everything crossed for you both. Try to be positive, even though it must be so hard. Just think of it as he is going to be one of the lucky ones that DOES get to stay back another year. I would imagine they would accept some applications, and lets hope yours is one of them. :hap: xoxo
  21. No worries. That is my opinion, and what I would do if they were mine... Maybe they just need a break, some yummy food and a good fly :hap:
  22. Your babies are looking great. As to the above couples, I'd put them back in the aviary. A month in the breeding cage and no action... sounds like they aren't interested. Are you 100% sure they are ALL in breeding condition? Give them a break and try them again later if you like :hap:
  23. Great news! :hap: I hope she continues her progress as a single Mum. (God knows it's a hard job... regardless of who or what you are )
  24. They're loving those branches Thanks for the update!
  25. I tried to keep it as simple as possible... there is a lot more to learn about the eggs, what to do and NOT to do etc... but my answer was how eggs are made Neat... me a sex ed teacher :lol2: That's just wrong in so many ways!! lol
